I almost want to smash my head against the wall whenever I hear that term or argument made. It's like someone throwing away a perfectly good jacket
because summer is in season.
If it's not relevant in Afghanistan then it is not necessary. What do we do when Afghanistan is over? Hope the military world will remain static and
non changeable for the next few decades? Even though there is such clear evidence to suggest (heck, show) the opposite you'd have to be both blind
and mentally incapable to miss it.
While we're at it lets scrap our ICBM's, SSBM's, air to air missiles, SSN's etc... since they were all designed for the Cold War and cannot be
used in Afghanistan.
I'm actually afraid that our national civilian defense leadership thinks this way, truly.
