To me it has a cowards ring,
For one who doesn't hide, behind anything.

Smoke and mirrors, what the hell?
Another way to avoid as well.

Pride is a mighty thing,
Mess with it, and I feel the sting.

Embarassment is the worse,
Private or public, always a curse.

And humiliation a bitter pill,
Just have to suffer through it still.

To warn others of this path,
Would only cause undo wrath.

I play fair, despite,
To be vengeful, would feel right.

Now back to pride,
It's hard to hide.
On lifes long and difficult ride.

Invisible Friends

Aren't we all a little odd...
To be hanging out with invisible friends..
But then if they give me # I can log off.
And return when, it depends.

To switch off and retreat,
Is something we can't do in life.
We have to deal with day to day,
The fun, the joy, the strife.

I like my friends,
That are behind the screen.
Who understand these things,
But I leave it up to them, what it is to be seen.

The eyes don't deceive you,
Since the face is never shown.
You know what I what you too,
My personality, on loan.

So let us just be friends,
We still have a lot to learn yet.
And let's enjoy it when we can,
Our life for the internet.

Dear Santa,

Dear Santa here’s my Christmas list,
With a few things on it,
I don’t want you to miss.

Some Grey Goose vodka,
And a jar of olives please.
Believe me Santa, this will put me at ease.

A bottle of vermouth,
But I don’t need much.
I like them dry, just a touch.

A new martini glass,
Would also be nice.
But don’t forget the shaker of ice.

Perhaps put some vodka,
In my friends stockings too,
I am sure they could use help like I do.

The holidays bring stress,
To most that I know.
You could help by bringing on the holiday glow.

That’s all that I need,
So deliver the cheer.
Thank you Santa and all your reindeer.

Blogstalker

The husbands away,
The wife wants to play.
She didn't even think to take off a day.

Chicken for dinner,
Surely a winner.
An easy meal for this beginner.

The husbands the cook,
So the wife's off the hook.
I really can, just pretend, with a look.

So here I sit, drinking a brew,
Wishing there was something to do.

I could finish the wash,
But surely you josh.
Maybe something sweet to nosh.

Decision made, I'll sit and pretend,
That the time will be better spent with a friend.

Kids home soon,
So there goes the room.
Soon with backbacks it will be strewn.

This rhymes pretty lame,
But I have no shame.
Just passing the time is my aim.

Just to hear a thank you,
For the things that are done.
Any appreciation,
Is a battle, hard won.

Just to hear, how are you?
When something doesn't go right.
If feeling under the weather,
Why is it always a fight.

Just to hear, what's new with you?
What's going on inside.
When life has its ups and downs,
It's not always taken in stride.

Just to hear, I love you,
When not said out of habit.

Perhaps I should just grab it.

Just to say them back myself,
Often seems a chore.

Ode to Stalkers

Try to ignore me,
I won't go away.
I am a stalker,
I will not give way.

Born to follow,
And sneak around.
Don't try to avoid me,
My tactics abound.

Lessons I have learned,
As I track my prey.
Run if you must,
I am here to stay.

Don't worry about me,
I will cause no harm.
I'm not a 300 lb lurker,
Don't sound the alarm.

I sit in my office,
Or sometimes the bar.
Just come and talk to me,
You'll see I am a star.

To all of the stalkers,
Out and about.
There's a meeting at eight,
At DATS bar, no doubt.

Put on your disguises,

The drinks on the house,

Rush

Misunderstood

Often times I'm misunderstood,
And I wish it wasn't so.
You see it's just my filters broke,
And the thoughts, they just flow.

You should see inside my head,
It's a jumble, a tangled mess.
The good, the bad, the ugly,
Honest thoughts more or less.

Once in a while they get the best of me,
And people stop and stare.
"What did she just say"
Opps, sorry I wasn't aware.

Luckily, I have good friends,
Who know me very well.
And when those thoughts escape me,
Shake their heads and laugh "oh well."

So if you happen to hear me,
Utter a gaff or a blunder.
Please be patient and understand,
And my reply may make you wonder.

Heat

This is just another beef,
Husband doesn't believe in heat.

Electric we have, it costs a lot,
Pioneer woman I am not.

Wood is delivered cut and split,
To the yard and dumped that's it.

Stack it we must, and what a hastle,
You would think we were building a f*cking castle.

You can stack I complain,
I won't be party to the pain.

Bring some in the house I sob,
I will not hawl it's not my job.

Turn on the thermastat I say,
Not like we can't afford to pay.

So again this winter I freeze I fear,
Unless I keep the wood stove near.

I won't be sleeping in my room above,
Too far from the warmth I so love.

Please dear spring come back fast
Or through another winter I might not last

Farewell

Farewell my friend,
I am going away.
It may sound dramatic,
But it is better this way.

To any who read this,
And think it is them.
There won't be an outing
No reason to condemn.

I treasure my friends.
For who ever they are.
The part that they play,
From near and afar.

As they ebb and flow,
With the tides of time.
Each leaves a mark
In this life sublime.

Most friends delight me,
And offer direction.
These friends I cherish,
By returning affection.

There is always one,
All they do is take.
Wasting your soul
For their own sake.

To this friend I say,
Farewell to your malice.
Let someone else be martyr
In your ice palace.

I walk away,
And with few tears.
And be thankful I'm smarter,
Immune to your jeers.

Resolution

The angst in my life,
Is what often inspires.
The things that I write,
The sorrows, desires.

It seems the sadness,
Often prevails
The joys and delignts
Lost in daily details.

What gives me joy?
I need to remember.
Not let my happiness
Smolder to a cold ember.

Life is too short
Not to fully emerse.
And kick angst in the "angst"
Then let it disperse.

It may be a bit late,
To make a New Years resolution.
Better late than never,
From now on ME is my constitution.

Ameretto is my preferred drink today,
Only the best when I can't play.

On the rocks to keep it chilled,
And a sturdy glass, don't want any spilled.

The brand of choice is Disaronno of course,
Quarter of the bottle gone and no remorse.

The ice doesn't have time to melt,
And straight to the brain til no pain felt.

After this glass I'll take my leave,
I think I have earned this hazy reprieve.

Tomorrow it's back to my real life,
Employee, mother and sometimes wife.
