PM: Bush will go down in Israeli history

Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert praised US President George W. Bush on Tuesday, just hours before his country finishes electing his replacement. "His name will be engraved in golden letters on the heart of the State of Israel," Olmert told Ynet.

"It is unreasonable to speak of what we have received from the Bush administration," he continued. "There are many things we cannot discuss – the $30 billion we received over 10 years are only the very tip of the iceberg of the things Bush has given us." [/Ex]

Well, at least there are people out there who have been happy with Bush as president. While the average American is and has been suffering greatly, the state of Israel has received billions of aid.

Explainable to the people? Not really, but AIPAC (Israel lobby) certainly is extremely influential and will continue to be since Obama has ties with AIPAC.

And, that's why his wars were illegal. They were plotted and executed by the vengeful selfish Jewish state against an Arab nation and the Arab people.

I'm not a fan of either Arabs or Israelites, right now. I think they BOTH need to grow up and learn how to live together in peace. They're like two weakling children fighting in the playground. They bully each other, because they've both been bullied.

Can these people stop fighting and choose to grow up and start a mature life, please? I feel like mother trying to separate twin brothers.

We are all in this world together, and it's more important to be responsible than it is to fight over petty differences and fears.

LAY DOWN YOUR ARMS AND EMBRACE ONE ANOTHER, BROTHERS!

Fantastic. 30Billion for Israel. Meanwhile, there is a huge thread on the front page of this site about Obama's brand of Socialism. I guess it's OK if we share the wealth with other countries?

Well good for them. So George won't leave office completely without accomplishment. He can put a picture of that next to a picture of the commemorative plaque from that CA sewage treatment plant. There you go George. A job well done.

Oh how sad for George. I just read that CA turned-down the initiative to name the sewage plant for him. Well, he got one plaque at least.

What will the Bush hating/Israel loving liberals have to say now? That their most hated US President was one of Israel's best friends. I never could understand how people can blast Bush's foreign policy on the one hand and say that we need to support Israel more on the other.

If you couldn't see that Bush and Israel were in bed together you must be blind or reading a different news paper.

I know something else, which would be quite better to be engraved in golden letters.

State of Israel lived 1947 - 2009
Rest in Peace. You won't be missed. Don't ever resurrect again. Amen.

lol, well I'm not a liberal...

but seeing as the US public opted to name a sewage plant after Bush, many are peeved at the freedoms he has laid waste to, the state of the economy, and the lies...

... and Israel is carving his name in gold.

I think we can all see where Bush's loyalties are... and they ain't with America.

I was a life long republican until Bush came along. This is a good example of why I am now an independent.

I think the last minute of the superb documentary pretty much sums it all up:

Remember the Roman Empire, the state of Judea behaved in ways which annoyed the Romans but didn't do them any harm. At the point that they were becoming a nuisance, the Romans turned against them, destroyed their temple, wiped them out and told them 'an empire has bigger concerns than you'. This is what Israel faces in the next 25 years.

The risk that the American empire will say wait a minute, you don't matter so much to us, either because we need oil more than we need you or because oil is no longer important - doesn't matter both has the same effect. You are more trouble than you are worth and the issue of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism is declining with demographic move to the next generation. This is a catastrophe for Israel, because Israel has no other friends in the world.

Wow.

I guess we should have been living in Israel for the last eight years.
We would have actually had Bush do something for and not against us.

All our tax money...yet no control over it.

I can't quite grasp the hatred towards Israel - their race has endured one of the most horrific genocides in history, and have one of the smallest countries on earth. They are constantly attacked from all corners of the globe, with the USA as the only real supporter. I guess you all would be happy seeing Israel overrun by Islamic radicals militants? How sick.

Oh Booohoo...

Israel shouldn't exist, the very fact that it does exist means true suffering for the Palestinians and anyone else who shares its borders...

Also Israel is responsible for countless horrors and uses the holocaust as an excuse to do anything it wants.

Shame on the US for selling it weapons and shame on Israel for threatening world peace.

Oh, and the only think GW Bush deserves his name to be engraved on, is possibly a couple of portaloo's or maybe a sewage works?

I dunno about you but if my race lost 4M + people I would remember that for a while AND make darn sure it wouldn't happen again. Their very existence is challenged every day - no wonder they prepare for the worst.

Bush wasn't perfect (no help from Cheney stirring the cauldron behind the scenes) but I am glad someone had the balls to support Israel. Sticking up for the little, unpopular guy is the hardest thing to do anywhere, from the halls of a high school to the global stage. Bush gets a
from me.

Well what an insult to the Proud America People.

Yes, the ones that were send to die for the liberation of Israel, I mean the liberation of Iraq.

Bush didn't fight for anything, he didn't die for anything that job was left to the sons and daughters of America

Where is the names in gold for the real Heroes of Israel.

Please consider the following trend before talking about enduring.

Thanks for the link, I see you are very right is two sides of the issue, but it depends with side you are in favor off.

Like everything in life we have those that see one side and those that see the other and the debates will follow.

I dont see America turning their back on Israel anytime soon so they need not worry. The fact is the Mossad has positions all over in our government. Look at all the Israeli dual citizens in high places in office.

In regards to the topic yeah Bush for sure gave the Israelis a lot more than just 30 billion dollars. He poked the eyes of almost every ally we have in this world, watched Russia grow to what it is, let NK get nukes, Let Iran build into what they are now but hey as long as Israel is satisfied who cares right?
