Still, whether he said it or not, I'm confident that it is what he's thinking.

So, you had a "quote" of his that you used to show how much of an idiot he is and you have retracted that he even made that quote, but you're just sure what he's thinking... You know him that well... to know what he's thinking. You know his mind, even though you were wrong about what he said...

Ok. I see.

Call it an educated hunch. I admitted I was wrong to post the quote. I could've edited it out and said nothing, but I'm happy to admit when I've made a mistake. We all make mistakes - Obama will. My point remains. That bogus quotation was not what I was resting any kind of 'case' on. It just expressed quite well precisely what my feelings on Obama and American politics are. I have nothing against Obama personally, I'd just prefer to wait for him to prove himself before we all jump for joy.

Much warm love, positive energy, best wishes and respect from South Brazil for President Barrack Obama and mainly, FOR ALL USA citizens, because you NEED and DESERVE this (after 8 years of so much pain and rough times..)

It was a really beautiful moment from here, i never saw you guys so proud and happy in all 25 years of my life, and i actually felt this in my heart, it felt like the american people got tired of being played\manipulated and won a "WAR" within. all the world is happy and cheering together, it is a magical moment in time, feels like humanity proved that we can think and act together for the better and we're so late already on uniting for the better good...

Keep your hopes up and strong, don't give up the fight, believe and know that you can do anything you want WHEN you want! It's time to prove to the "hidden forces" out there that sleep time is over, america is awakening and becoming aware, SHOW THEM what a UNITED NATION can do! SHOW THEM what's the meaning of PROUD OF BEING. It's time for you guys to SCARE these SOBs back to their rat holes underground! America and all of it's people DESERVES to be free and the example of a nation to the world, it once was.

And as another user stated here early, I TOO HOPE and FIRMLY BELIEVE that Obama HAVE to make the previous administration PAY for their CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY, EACH and EVERYONE of the ones involved shall not be forgotten, neither their crimes.

Put out the garbage and start clean again, America!

Here's goes for hope and energy of a enlightened and beautiful future of the american dream, for all of you.

(And a little bit of fun! LOL!)

All the best!

Hey OP, very nice sentiment. You're a decent fellow. But lets get real...

It seems America has now spoken very loudly. Looks like we will be folding our tents and pulling our troops from the middle east. So now begins the time when all freedom loving nations can begin fending for themselves. You will have to cut your socialist programs and start spending money on your own national defenses.

Freedom isn't free after all, is it now? We will all re-learn together the hard way. In the meantime, enjoy the love-in. Oh, sorry for the financial meltdown. That goes for you to Iceland. We're pulling for you little guy!

I woke up at five with a sqeamish feeling in my stomach....so I got up and watched the elections going the right way in my eyes. I was very happy to see all these happy people. This was one night to remember for me!

I wittnessed an afro-american, age 45 approximately saying that he voted for the first time (!) and his candidate won (surprise and tears in his eyes). He said he felt like a american citizen for the first time in his live.

Congratulations on the victory of hope and new unity and spirit!

That's a great, historic time for America, and the rest of the world as well. In these harsh days of political darkness and hopelessness here comes somebody who really has the capacity to change the world for something better. He's the one who can bring back "freedom" and tolerance in the agenda of the US government, after years of thinly-veiled fascism.

Let's all hope he's gonna have the balls to bring down the Patriot Acts, the Homeland Sect Dept, the US military occupation of Middle-East and prosecute Bush and his cronies ASAP!

...and that Bush will not declare martial law before that!

It is a fantastic event.

The way I see it, under Bush, the US became the bully of the world, imposing its views and ways onto other countries because it could. I think the US went about a lot of things under Bush in totally the wrong way. It was a bleak time for the world.

Now under Barak Obama, a new dawn we can see.....initial feeling is a feeling of relief that the clouds of the last 8 years are breaking, and the sun is beginning to show through.

Hopefully the USA can again take the role of parent to the rest of the world, a role which most countries in the world have been grateful for at some point in the past. This is the kind of role that America needs to get back to being.....not the all forceful bully of the last 8 years.

We welcome the new dawn in America and hope that the world can become a little safer with a new guy in charge.
Well done Americans for bringing about the change so many of us have yearned for.

Obama- what do you people think he is the "messiah"? Sure Bush was not good at all but McCain would have been a better choice if for no other reason than he has experience. It seems people only voted for Obama because he is black and that makes all who did racist.

disgusted in U.S.A.

I find that hard to believe......I think people voted for Obama because they saw McCain as another 4 years of Bush.
McCain is another warmonger, along with Palin, who spouted nothing but war talk, same policies, same decisions, different face.

McCain has experience.....in what exactly? War?

I think people voted for a black candidate because they saw a chance to make a difference. Obama got the minority communities out to vote...that's not racism.

If people only voted for Obama because he's black then that means people only voted for McCain because he's white. How does that sound?

Sounds sound

In fact, I would go so far as to say the ATS members that are so adamant that people only voted for Obama because he is black, in fact, probably did not vote for Obama because he is black. Tastes like Projection to me.

Honestly, no one I personally know that voted for Obama, or even McCain, talked about race. Guess things are different in California.

I am sorry you need to make such horrible predictions about Pres Obama. Thanks for this post and everyone of my Worldly neighbors who offer up such polite and heart felt congrats to our new leader. It is such an exciting time for our country and I am glad I am here to see it!

This thread started out as a congratulations, and as usual, theres always someone that wants to rain on the parade.

I for one as an American see the warmth poured out the world wide.
A choice we as a people have made, a bolstering of trust that America can do the right thing seen on a Global scale.

The past 7 years has seen an administration that has trampled our civil rights, and a people that have wrongly supported it. Now that our economy is in a shambles, America has chosen someone that will look at just that, but like many things we do, our choice has been made after much wrong has been done.

Today, is a new day. A voice of reason will enter the white house. Things are tough, but better days are on the horizon.

A congratulations to the president elect, and an apology from me as an American citizen, that somehow we allowed the delay of a much needed correction that has hurt the world wide.

Peace

This thread reminds me of the last election when many Americans (myself included) sent pictures to a website with a message for the rest of the world about THAT presidential election... "We're SORRY!"

I'm glad the message is so different this time!

You make an EXCELLENT point!
It's such an insult to be told why I voted for Obama when I have laid out EXACTLY why I voted for him many times!

Because he's so HOT, of course!!

I think I've already posted here... but I'm gonna post again anyways

Since this thread is the only one that's actually dedicated mostly to praising Obama, then I guess I am where I want to be.

I can't express how much I love the guy..he's such a decent and intelligent human being. More than 90% of the world support and praise him (according to universal polls) and I can't blame them one bit.

He represents peace and equality... I really hope he is able to achieve what he wants to without becoming a martyr like Martin Luther King or namely JFK. Although I am beginning to doubt his still to be appointed administration, I still have confidence in his message of change and hope.

I am flagging this thread because of the scarce nature of it's theme. I'm really sick of seeing all the bloody Obama bashing threads, just today I read this ridiculous topic involving a pentagram at the back of Obama's head... RIDICULOUS... I wish I could post the link here but I forgot where to find that stupid topic.

Anyways, again.. Obama is the man and I love him to death. Keep praising him guys

Peace
