Awesome thread! I am an American but wanted to extend a big thank you to the people of other nations that have not given up on us. It really warms my heart to know that people of other countries still have faith in us. I imagine that there are some that have lost faith in us and I really must say I could not blame them. I hope we can restore the trust and earn back the faith of those that have been angered by our actions and policies over the last few years.

Bush turning his back (on many occasions) to the UN and other countries was and has been a travesty. We all have a lot of problems on our hands and forgive me if this sounds selfish but I hope America first and foremost solves it's own problems before trying to fix/ help with others. We must get ourselves back on track and then we can get back to helping the rest of the world. Like a mechanic with a broken down car, we need to set the example here.

I would also like to thank my fellow Americans for making me see that we can still make the right decisions and can still work together to achieve a common goal.

While I don't believe things will ever be perfect in this world I think we can all do a lot better. Thank you so much for all the heartfelt best wishes!

Huh? Canada is not the states - white males are still the majority here....there is no real logic behind a non-white leader in Canada while that remains the reality.

The US demographic is very different however, and Obama's election there is far more indicative of US racial numbers and population levels. A country with a history of ingrained racism like the US can only benefit from it's leader being a member of a racial minority. Hopefully, it will help foster tolerance, equality, and a greater and fairer distribution of wealth in the country - god knows it's in desperate need of it.

Congratulations Obabma!

Congratulations to Obama for winning the presidency and to the US as a whole for voting for him.

My only wish from a US outsider now is that perhaps a Native American Indian will one day be President of the United States - That will be the day that will show the world that America has finally come of age.

By the time that would occur there will be no native's left, thanks to the effective genocide that has occured since this great country was "founded".

Anyways thanks to the well wishers. We can all only hope for much needed positive change. God knows we are well overdue!!

Congrats from Guam!!!

Even though we can't vote for the US president, it was still an experience to watch this event happen. I was happy about that day and his speech really helped make me feel good about the world. It had made my girlfriend cry in happiness knowing that this was happening. We want change and I'm not going to doubt Obama. We all must not doubt each other, how can we unite and find equality in each other if we spread differences and frustration?

Come ats'ters!!!

One of things about the election last night that really made me smile was the reaction of people from all across the world. After eight years of seeing our flag burned (and not really blaming those people for burning it) and of seeing our president being spit upon and burned in effigy (and not really blaming those people for spitting on him and burning him in effigy), to see millions around the world cheering for Obama, dancing in the streets, wrapping themselves in the American flag and so many other things was just absolutely awesome. I know a lot of other Americans feel the same way. It's kind of hard to explain. The fact that this country, rich in racial strife, hatred and bigotry, has elected an African-American as its Commander-in-Chief (which is something that a lot of people said would never happen) is without question the greatest political moment of my life. I've never been prouder to be an American.

As for the Obama bashers...well, bash all you want. Call him a socialist, call him the Antichrist, call him the same as Bush only in different clothes - call him whatever you want. But the fact remains - America is a different country today than it was yesterday. All possibilities are open to all people regardless of race or sex. Will Obama keep all his promises? No, of course not. Does a politician, American or otherwise, ever keep all their promises?

The American Dream lives. America is back. R.I.P. GOP.

Though I cast my vote for McCain, I have hope that Obama and his plans will strengthen my nation. I do not agree with all of his ideas concerning healthcare and our involvement overseas, but I do see the effect Obama's selection is already making across the world and my nation. I see a spark and hope in the people of my country. Many feel inspired by this new hope in these troubling times. In addition, though Obama lacks foreign policy experience, nations all over the world will be more willing to accept the USA and see hope in a president that himself, has mixtures of Christian and Muslim religions, and a promise to keep relations strong with Israel. He might actually be able to create some peace where there is none. I am also encouraged that black Americans now realize that they are on equal ground. The finger can be pointed no more that they as a race cannot achieve the highest pinnacle in this nation. It will inspire many that did not have hope. I accept my new president and have high expectations that the people of this country will come first, but at the same time, we as a nation will strengthen alliances and bring peace among more nations.

Just this small thread has shown me how important my country is to the rest of the world. I had little idea how focused people overseas would be on this election, and I thank you for your warm comments and excitement. As of yesterday, I truly am glad to be a citizen of this nation, and I know that this election has made monumental history in the world. Our direction now will be far different, and to see that not only US citizens are inspired by that fact makes me feel, well, just awesome. Thank you.

Hello,

I just saw this thread while wandering on the internet, and I want to congratulate the USA and mr. Obama because of a great victory.

I had to cry while looking at the happiness of the crowd in different American cities after CNN announced the projected president elect. I watched mr. Obama's speech till the end and I had to cry again after seeing the crowd spontaneously celebrating in front of the White House, and throwing some jests at G.W. Bush.

I always thought that America was one of the best countries in the world. That perception has obviouly been wiped after 8 years of bad leadership.

I hope that mr. Obama will be a great president, and that the USA will again inspire the rest of the world through good leadership. But in a sense American people already has inspired the world by electing someone who is for change, by choosing a person who tries to be an uniter rather than a dominator, and by showing the wonderful, powerful dynamics of American democracy by voting for a citizen from a minority group.

I am by the way an Indonesian Dutchman (Indonesia was a former colony of the Netherlands) but I would have been equally touched if mr. Obama did not have any connection with Indonesia. However, the fact that he has a little connection makes it for me a little bit more interesting
.

So, good luck America and good luck president Obama!

Not since Kennedy have we had such a leader--someone with principles and goodness; someone of great intelligence and eloquence; someone who will fight for the common man. The forces of evil (ignorance, selfishness, greed for money and power) are surely regrouping after this setback. We should all envision Obama as safe and successful. He is a beacon of hope not just for America but for all humanity. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

As I'm hovering above the Dominican Republic in my ex-UFO and now called AFM (Awesome Flying Machine) I want to say:
"Congratulations to the United State of America... Congratulations to Mr. Obama".

Also, I want to congratulate the "masters" for this misdirection of event, for making many believe in the government again, for playing this wild card so perfectly.

TRANCE formation of the world!

I personally am thrilled to have a black president. I believe he has the potential to be the best president in history. ;Perhaps, we are headed in a most positive and uplifting direction that this country has so desperately not seen and yet needed in a very long time;. Anyone with a brain can seriously see that this country was in need of something else, such as a more confident sophisticated and intellectual individual such as Obama. I think,This can really be a big opportunity for many folks to turn things around in their lives if they allow it to.I really think that a lot of good will come out of this decision both for people and for the economy.

One thing we must remember is that People are people. I think we should pull together and not let the color of our skin effect our outlook on what a black president is or isn't capable of. On the same note we should not let the media or Mr. Obama say that mine or anyone Else's ethnicity is the same because, outwardly we are all different duh, but inwardly we as humans are alot the same in nature. By that i only mean the majority of us just want peace prosperity etc..Our last presidency seemed it was on a mission to get control or to pratically doing everything short of enslaving our nation. it has always been a plan of the illuminatti i think. My opinion is, The world is fine the way it is. blacks are blacks Hispanics are Hispanics whites are whites etc etc.see the issue i have here is that America is America and in here we have our own issues to address. America is a nation founded upon the principles of hard working men and women trying to live their lives and raise a family and live their lives in peace. If we truly trust in that faith then we should do our best to keep obama as president and give him the chance he deserves. So basically I am just hoping that Mr. Obama undo what Mr. Bush has done, then let the people make their own mistakes and allow God to work through people in order to mend what has been broken and restore the American dream.

If the last presidency has taught me anything it is the fact that a bad president to me can come in any color of the rainbow. I think This can really be a big opportunity for many folks to turn things around and perhaps a second chance for many to get job's and things in places they couldn't before ,maybe it could be a chance to really give the average person a better quality of life, since most of us don't have millions of dollars in our pockets i assume.

i also believe it is important to be made aware of the prejudices, racism, and ignorance that can be used against people to create a false sense of hatred especially in this day and age, because it is not about our past or present perhaps, apparently it's not even about the color of our skin, but it is more about what we can do as a nation which is overcoming these hurdles for perhaps a better future.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate President elect Obama. This thread is for all those people who, like myself, who are not from America, but wish to send their congratulations and good wishes to President Obama.

I should also like to say that Senator McCain, who has also done som much public service for your country, fought a good campaign under exceptional circumstances and remains forever a gentleman in my eyes.

Congratulations America, you've done something very special today.

PLEASE NOTE: This is meant to be a genuine goodwill thread.

Well Thank ya, Thank ya Very Much

Hearing a nice congratulations like that from across the Pond means a lot. Very nice congratulatory response, non-partisan, and well spoken it is.

I understand why so many people bash america daily. It is especially apparent in a site like this. I hate this country. I hate this country because it is a crap hole of every culture, belief, religion.. every type of alien lives here. We ARE not free in comparison to much of the world.

It's unnatural for us to criticize the world we live in , because of course, we do not want it to be better. But heres the reality... We have contaminated water. We dont have well-being every day that have been going on for years, like many other countries. We have concentration camps. We have nukes. We have sneaky people and we are a bunch of renegades because we rob so many countries, and so many countries hate us.

Why must we be in america , when I can gurantee you would be more happy if you lived in many other places in the world. Dont be thankful for what you have. There are many things in this world that could be worse than having a crappy government like ours. Thats a give. But you know what? Our government is from hell, no matter where you live.

Just dont be so nice. There are a lot of bad people in this country, a lot of poor things about this country. We are, at the beginning of doomsday, what america is made up of. A culmination of all-kind music. Of every type of rap musician. We are why so many people from other planets dont want to come here and live the american horror. We give everyone an long painful death..

Other countries criticize america, they dont come here and stay outta here , I would like visit them, and have family with them. They are damn right!

I am bonapartist, im not nihilist, but I still know what a shameful country this is. I think more people should realize it.
