and K-string...dont get your hopes up. I dont see Obama giving us nationalized health care anytime soon, as he is truly NOT a socialist. Further, the best healthcare out there is Naturopathic health care which works on solving the disease whereas western medicine just covers the symptoms, and no social healthplan i know of todate includes them.

When has the Government EVER made anything better by taking it over???????? You actually think healthcare will be BETTER socialized???

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Did I see a post with saying a fascist taking a Socialist road? Wow, contradicting much?

You are all morons that believe this.

If he was a Socialist, he would've ran as Communist or Socialist Party Presidential Choice

He isn't a socialist! Get that through your head, he isn't.

He is a democrat and is all for corporate interest.

Damn

On the contrary. You will see a capital INFLUX, as democrats take on the unparalled spending of the socialist neocon era.

I am curious why businesses/corporations would flow into a country knowing upfront that their taxes/costs will be higher and the people in that country would be unable to afford their goods/services?

gizmo, the postal system was out of control when it was privatized, with the mail being irregularly delivered, and often used as a tool of control as the post masters would refuse to deliver mail from opposing ideologues or businesses. Since it was taken over by the government its been fairly regular and dependable. Further, who do you think is in control of your healthcare now? Its the insurance industries, a group who profits based directly off of how little care they give you. NO ONE can give you worse care than that.

Yes, a) health care SHOULD NEVER be a for-profit industry. That is ABSURD. Unless you like to see people suffer.

b) everyone would finally have available health care, that cannot be a bad thing unless you wish to see people suffer.

Don't let anyone fool you.

It goes like this there is no contradiction:

From left to right

Communism.....Socialism...(Democrats).....Fascism..(republicans).......conservatives.......libertarians....Anarchy

Communism is the complete opposite of Anarchy, despite what some ill informed punk rockers may have duped themselves into thinking. Don't buy that "Anarchy in the UK" crap, that was a socialist silly song taking and twisting the true intent of Anarchy.

without incentive there can be no innovation... and by law, NOBODY can be denied required medical treatment at a hospital

well maybe its confusing because here it is often referred to as the "religious right" or the "conservative right" and both groups seem to want the government to intervene to push their values on others, whereas the anarchists and libertarians seem to share so many values with those who push for socialist institutions such as healthcare and education.

So, as people are more taxed this creates more investment.

That's not the same as health care and you know it. You don't show much integrity by equating emergency room visits with health care. Health care is preventative. It includes regular physicals, screenings, and health advice.

I also find it cute that without profit there is no incentive in your backwards world. Profit is an awful motivator. Helping others and a love for the science of health are two much more powerful motivators and you know it.

gizmo, 2 questions....where is there no incentive? and secondly, everyone MUST be treated perhaps, but they will also be bankrupted and put into a form of serfdom to the hospital for the rest of their life.

First off, I am amazed at how people are claiming that the McCain supporters are crying and are sore losers. Wasnt it just 4 years ago that the Dems were wailing over Bush being re-elected? Yet NOW its time to come together and unite? Funny, when things were different you could hear the crying and foot stomping in another hemisphere.

This nation was weakened today and the OP has it right.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Historically, the economy and markets fluctuate and while we are seeing a severe dip one almost has to believe that it has almost nowhere to go but up. Obama could benefit from that as people would be fooled into thinking that it was of his doing, that the markets came back to life just as Clinton is praised for the dot com boom when in fact he did nothing to perpetuate it.

Yet with Obama's plan of spend spend spend, the bottom could easily fall out. Universal healthcare is a great idea on paper. Every President has tried and realized that it wont work unless you tax the shoes off everyone earning a paycheck. Obama just might do that with a democratic House and Senate. You think the economy is bad now? Its a gravy train right now compared to whats coming.

Bringing the troops home will only force our grandkids to have to go back to a region more destabilized than it is now and fight a more fierce, bloodier war. Nothing done half-assed works and to leave without finishing the job leaves a mess that might never be stablized. Isreal is now an even bigger target than it ever was and Iran is licking its chops.

I AM crying tonight. I am crying for America and what will be left after Obama and his pack of wolves destroy everything our forefathers fought for. I cry that my children will have to spend their lives digging out from the rubbish pile that Obama and his cohorts are going to turn this great nation into.

k-string, thats because in the minds of the spiritless, a life without profit offers no incentive. They believe that the natural state for a human at rest is laziness, whereas i truly think the natural state for a human at rest is creativity. All of history shows it, in all societies where the needs are met for all there is wonderful advance in arts, music, science...however, in all societies where there is oppression and the balance is far too much work and far to little "life" THEN laziness appears and becomes endemic.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Socialism is nowhere near Fascism, you may think that due to the Mussolini flip but you are wrong.

Silly Libertarian.

I am a single father, raising two children alone.. without government help I have insurance for medical bills... I live a moderate life and forgoe many things I dont need (cell phone, cable, etc) I provide my children what they need and live to my means... Instead of wasting money on the latest gadgets and devices i put the money where it belongs.. for my family for their care.. I have only one OLD car.. I do not need a new one because mine works fine.. I do not need to run out and spend just to spend, because family comes first.. But when you come to me and tell me that people cannot provide insurance or maintain the welfare of their family and I see them driving around in a brand new SUV.. or their children have an Ipod or cellular phone? Dont preach to me about how the government can solve this crisis.. Maybe the people can take responsibility for themselves and drop the cable/cell phone keep the old car.. Insurance is STILL cheaper than the cost of cable and a family cell phone plan...
