This is a generic thread to cover ALL results as they come in throughout the day. In order to save massive confusion and countless threads, I've been so nice to create a thread for us to post/analyse results

Dixville Notch first to declare. Obama win. 15-6. Nadar was on the ballot, but received no votes.

Historic note: Bush won Dixville Notch in 2004.

Turnout: 100%

Hart's Location declares. Obama win. 17-10.

Going to be a long wait till the nation declaration.

Btw, final poll, puts Obama on a 11% lead. Going on local polling data, opinion probably has at least 253 electoral college votes, McCain in mind 100s.

Dixville Notch traditionally votes R, so this is a good sign for Obama supporters.

There are already long lines at the polling locations in the "big cities" in NH. This may be the highest voter turnout in history.

30% have already turned out in early voting - which is a 20% increase on 2004

Zogby polling data:

Pennsylvania
Obama 51 McCain 41

Ohio
Obama 49 McCain 47

Virginia
Obama 52 McCain 45

Nevada
Obama 53 McCain 42

Florida
Obama 49 McCain 48

Missouri
Obama 49 McCain 49

North Carolina
Obama 49 McCain 50

Indiana
Obama 45 McCain 50

Zogby conclude 273 electoral votes are strong for Obama and 129 for McCain. Overal, they predict;

Obama 293 and McCain 142

Historic note: Zogby accurately predicted the 2004 result.

Go democrats. Go self deluded Barmy Obama! Well I sincerely hope that the lesser of two evils wins.

Voter turnout:

US electoral officers expect at least 135 million Americans to vote in the 2008 general election. That's more than 2004.

Obama 293 and McCain 142

There are 105 "toss up states" and these will decide whether or not Obama will get a landslide. Sorry, forgot to mention that variable in the previous post of mine.

Is this for actual results?

Or, is this for polls?

The total on that Zogby prediction is wrong though.

Aren't there 538 electoral college seats in total?

All indications so far are clear though, McCain is screwed. At least thats the technical term...

CNN opinion poll currently has Obama 77%, McCain 23%.

Ask Ron Paul supporters how much we should believe those.

This is what Zogby have concluded, yes.

Dixville Notch and Hart's location voted last night and are the first to declare.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the other 105 in the previous post. The polling data found it difficult to predict a landslide overall (some states are too close to call). However, the organisation is confident that its Obama 293 and McCain 142 so far but unsure regarding the remaining 105.

330 is believed to be the "landslide" target.

I meant the thread.

Is it for actual election results or for polling data?

77% lol

I believe Washington was the only President to get a figure that high, 100% of electoral votes in his first election.

Nearly all polls are Obama 53% McCain 44%

Yeah,
this thread is about results and analysis as well. Regarding polling data, I posted the material in order to give a potential outcome of how the election is likely to go

Heres hoping as many Americans turn out as possible.
Todays result is an opportunity to change the direction and focus, back to the domestic... where the world needs it most!

May the best man win!
Its 10pm here in WA, when I wake up it will be a new age.

Very interesting to see Rove's prediction.

I would largely agree with him, but I think that McCain will retain Florida; and Obama will take Arizona.

lo and behold, my husband this morning decided to got early to vote in our littler precinct.

Last elections was a walk in and out with no lines.

Today my husband was for a bit surprised!!!!!!!! he said the line was wrapped around the building (a church) he had to give up and leave, to comback after work..

This is going to be historical elections alright.
