Having just typed what I did and then clicked post, a thought occured to me:

There's a chant at the moment "four more years"... I believe that is has to do with people wanting change and not four more years of the same Bush policies.

Well, there in lies the problem. Whichever candidate is voted in, the same Bush policies will be followed for another four years, be it Obama or McCain. Mark my words, either is disaster for the US of A.

I find your commenet disturbing. I know a great amount people. Some of the people I know will not vote for Obama simple because he is of color, and I know people who are voting for Mccain just becasue of his color or lack of. I have grown from a poor community of color and they know why they want Obama in. Allow me to inform, there are alot of Americans of color voting for Mccain, so......
People speak of tranny and how these two candidates represent the misguided essence of America. I believe some of the people here are the very product of the brain-washing,watered-down truth, that is force fed by the pretty face of the beast, the media.
Correct me if Im wrong, but the false messiah is suppose to declare or proclaim himself as "messiah", I havent heard anything of that nature. But I have heard he can save us, just as I hear that from the ron paulers or the mccain's. The truth is, no president will ever be able to save us from problems we create, we "the people" must take a stand.\
The media and close-minded individuals use most of us as pawns and your perception, belief, and understanding is all they want. If you submit and buy what they have to offer, you lose the ability to think freely, and you become the confused, and begin to point fingers in all directions.

Free yourself through wisdom not the fasle knowledge of the media.
Peace-Love to everyone

Oh dear, so many misguided people, what is one to do. When are the American people going to wake up to the reality that their country was highjacked a long time ago and the country they dream of is just that a dream.

The country is now publicly robbed of its wealth, the parasites are so brazen that they do not even bother to hide their illegal actions any more. The country and constitution has been raped like never before and it is now a full blown Fascist state with all the powers at hand to replace the constitution with the Patriot Act.

Yet like a drowning man hanging onto a life raft we hear the stirrings of the brain controlled Patriots willing to die for their country, well I ask you who's country is it your willing to die for and breaking news many of your fellow citizens are dying on a daily basis for profit and greed. Your own citizens have been murdered by those who control Goverment and they continue these crimes yet we still have the brain dead stating they are proud of it.

Odessy,

I did think about Ron Paul. But I believe that this election will change the very fabric of our lives. I could not in good faith, "throw my vote away" during this election. Yes, it is a damn shame that Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance of winning.

I voted for Duncan Hunter in the general election and after McCain got the nomination, I seriously considered not voting at all. But again, my conscience wouldn't allow it. Our election process is fixed between two parties who don't really give a damn about the people.

Ah. so sad- all this hate mongering.

As a retired U.S. Army officer, I am saddened that people fall for this crap.

Obama will be a good leader. Obama is fine. I am more concerned about McCain's health, and Sarah Palin getting her finger on the button than about a bunch of this crap floating around to scare people.

Let me ask you this-

If Obama is such a menace to society, why do the majority of Americans support him?

It is because people can think for themselves. And look at the options.

Obama is a far better leader, a far better visionary, and will help our position in the world far better than McCain.

I'm supporting Obama, and I'm proud of it.

Signed:

A 21 year military veteran, former republican, and now proud to be casting my vote for Obama.

Well I'm sorry to say, your vote went to the wrong man.
I would say the same if you voted for Obama.

Do some research on the bilderberg group.
McCain, Obama, even Clinton are registered members.
In fact, every presidential candidate for the past 20 years or more has been a member of the bliderberg group... as well as heads of corporations, and political leaders of other countries. Neadless to say Rockefeller is on the list as well.
It is the group that controls the world.
It is the group that makes the decisions to go to war, to raise oil prices, to take away our rights.

Why is it that the only candidates on that list got all the media coverage?
Because they control that too.

You didnt just vote for a lesser of two evils... you voted for the evil your hoping to stop.
I know you didnt do it on purpose... we were all tricked at some point...

I find it crazy to think that one man has so much power. It does not matter who is voted into office the real power resides with the congress. We are in a never ending war on Terror because congress gave up its power to one man. Now our congress has handed over full control of the Financial Crises to one Man. We all know how that’s working out. Who is to blame for this? That’s right “We The People”

Americans tend to focus on the obvious symptoms when they should be concentrating on the causes. This Election Year is no different from those past. Politicians will say and do anything to get elected and when they are elected what happens? In most cases nothing!

“Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on “We the People”

Wake up people we are all in this together and no matter what the train left the tracks a long time ago. Stop the fear and war mongering and let’s get back to solving the issues that face us all. I am tired of hearing Americans whining about the past or the future. “We the People” want Solutions now!

This forum should be used to solve problems instead of spreading fear and discontent.

So what do “We The People” want to solve first?

Healthcare
Economy
War
Entitlements
Immigration
Taxes
Balance the Budget
Etc

Reading is Fundamental

This just sounds like a bunch of typical propaganda to me. I just LOVE how the article says he's not a McCain supporter, but then says he's voting for McCain somewhere near the end. I'm sorry. No star or flag on this from me!

Aren't there other choices? I'm pretty sure that it's not just Republicans and Democrats running, and don't even saaaaaaay that your vote wouldn't count, because then you're just part of the problem (which is -everyone- thinking that) You should always vote for what you believe in.

the op should probably have been deleted since it was, ya know, plagiarism. i see it has been edited to reflect the fact that it was a quotation from another source, which is a step in the right direction i guess.

the original source is more overblown jingoistic honkified hang wringing. "loving" a country makes no sense. a bunch of crackers running around with shotguns and whiskey fueled grudges is the surest possible recipe for a dystopia. countries are imaginary, just like god, and neither imaginary monster is worth dying for.

The way I see this it could involve any one of the possible scenarios:

1-Obama actually becomes president, (no vote fraud gives it to McCain).
whereupon the powers that be put into action a plot to cut his term terribly short, then Joe Biden steps in and brings up Hillary Clinton.

2-Obama is Elected,Nothing happens to Obama, shortly thereafter, a terrorist attack takes place, A Bio threat of the new strain of TB (known now as XTB) causing death and mass panic, collapsing the economy and society in one fell swoop.

3-Obama ISN'T elected, public outcry of vote fraud, riots ensue, Martial Law is enacted (in full), this is a more likely scenario, as there were preparations for this event a long while back, it worked well in New Orleans...so why not Nation-Wide?....Government's predictable with doing 'smaller test cases' to gauge the outcome of proposed larger-scale deployments of a plan.

Doesn't matter which one of these nightmares comes true, I've been ready for it...are you?

If you're not, here's what you best start thinking about right now!

1-Safe Shelter
2-Water for at least a few months
3-Food (stores are going to be EMPTY and quick!
4-Arms, criminals have weapons, they're the ones who will go wild in a time of disaster, it's in their nature...don't be their victim.

I recall when Hurricane Andrew blew through my hometown, people were soo sure order would be restored quickly that nearly everyone was unprepared. The food and water I mentioned...well it was gone in (1) day and there was no more provided for days after, now keep this simple thing in mind...the Human Body cannot live without water for more than a few days. If you calculate the effects of a localized disaster then multiply it times every city in every state throughout the nation, you'll be lookin at alot of people dying from a lack of basic preparedness.

We've become a society of SUV driving Big Box Mart shopping 'Consumers'. We've lost the ability to provide for ourselves what it is that we need, and instead depend on Government and Industry to provide it for us.

With our current mindset, most of us are sitting ducks for the troubled times ahead, but then there are those of us who are prepared so who do you want to be today?

That post is not well informed, as I had posted awhile back the whole guns and religion comment has to be listened to in the entirety, not the snippet, he was talking about some Midwestern towns, that in the aftermath of the great depression never saw their economies or jobs that were their core return since and because of that all they have to cling to was their guns and religion, they remain bitter and cynical towards government, that is a whole lot different than if he was applying this generally to all of small town of America which is what the republicans and those that are unable to process information using their own brains have turned what he said into.

Please look at Teddy Roosevelt, he is McCain's hero, he was considered to be by his ideologies and beliefs much closer to thinking as a socialist than Obama would even dream.

First off, that Quote is what it is. Senator Obama insulted Small-town Americans then, and he did it yet again when commenting on Governor Palin. Face it, he is just another Yuppie Liberal from Chicago who believes that anyone hailing from a community outside of the Suburbs, must be a total backwoods, inbred, idiot. The Republicans did not turn the comment into anything, it is simply that naive worshippers of "The One" refuse to believe he can do any wrong.

Second, "Teddy Roosevelt more Socialist than Obama"? LOL, Pleeeeease....

Senator Obama actually belonged to a Socialist Party during the 1990's, so no further proof is deemed necessary so as to qualify him for being an actual, verifiable Socialist.

I guess based upon what I have read, I'm now a Marxist. Don't we all deserve to live a fair and just life without materials defining our class of humanity? Do you all realize the pain and tyranny that America has caused the third world? America is oil hungry and we will terrorize anybody that gets in our way of this pointless limited resource. There are greater alternatives being bought and muscled out of the mainstream everyday, so we can keep fighting pointless wars. Killing billions of people over it, and infringing on people's religious beliefs in the process; all so a couple billionaires can pocket more worthless cash. (I recommend you read Ishmael)
The Weather Underground saw that no one was going to listen to those peaceful hippy soaked protests, so they took action into their own hands. They became vigilantes to protect human rights from oppression, because no one else would. (besides the Black Panthers, but that was a battle they were in support of also at the time). They challenged the government, and of course they made mistakes while they were doing it. And not everything they did was right, but their main concerns of human justice against fascist government stood. Bill Ayers wasn't a terrorist, he was a revolutionary. You should probably just watch this while you are at it: video.google.com...=freedom%20to%20fascism&hl=en&emb=0
Reverend Jeremiah Wright is correct when he condemns American government for lying to it's people, duh. Do you people even realize what your opposing when you use these examples as Obama faults?
You want the government to control you? That is what I am getting out of this statement that I have just read. Maybe you all think this is just the lesser of all controlling political systems, and so that is what you'll settle for.
That isn't something I can accept.
I am not an Obama supporter, but your negative checklists of him are more influencing than anything that McCain supports. If you were in support of human rights you would respect that Palestine should be in the hands of the Palestinians , not oppressive Israeli terrorists. How can you even back a country that shoots people whose only weapons are rocks? "Somewhere Karl Marx with his Godless, Utopian vision is laughing in delight", meanwhile you voted for a puppet in a plan to shred the very document you stand for.
Spread the wealth, because Capitalism is Cannibalism.
Down with Imperialism!

Why Obama? I just want to have hope again. I want to believe that we have not lost all of OUR control and rights in the last 8 years. I want to believe that we can reverse the executive orders that threaten to choke our constitution and place our country into a dictatorship.

I want to be proud about how we protect OUR civil liberties, and restore those we lost. I want accountability for the tax revenues we pay. I want to have a compassionate government that helps its citizens first and helps our suffering families and neighbors. Neither man, nor nation can arise to greatness while reaching out with an iron glove. Today’s color is Orwell Orange; will we ever see green again? I want a country that is revered in the world; not feared and not despised.

I ask for a lot; can we expect as much from a nation as great as ours.

I cannot hide below the tainted, dirty window our media has projected our world to be and watch Obama place his life on the line, I will step up as he has into the light of day and place false fear aside. I risk less, but my family, my young children, can benefit from this moment of healing and maybe, just maybe they can have a life less fearful. A life promised so many times by so many others; and yet still I hope. The time to share Martin's dream is finally at hand. It is this hope that we seek, and not maverick bull#. We will regroup and help our own, we will change this world of terror, and we will learn to love our brothers. I will vote in good faith that we can once again have compassion, justice, and love.
