These guys (from urban survival and related) are monitoring the language as it appears on the everyday basis on the Internet, in various texts, headlines, etc. and trying to use it as a tool of prediction. The idea is that future events are anticipated in the language as if what people are saying is the result of the concentration of certain intents which are not yet fully articulated as events.

WHAT IF............this turns out to be a really fine example of manifestation? In reference to the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know"....... there is alot about quantum physics just now beginning to realize that we DO create our own reality. And if a gob of people are feeling like something big and bad is coming down the pike, quite possibly we are bringing that reality into being?

I saw Mike Singh posted this

If you analyze it a little, you may notice the catch words, which I have extracted from the OP, that point toward a disaster at the Poles where the mountains of ice crash into the sea due to global warming or other causes like earthquakes causing a rise in water levels across the globe resulting in a deluge that causes shock and trauma.

I DO recall Cliff High saying that the PTB were very worried about Antarctica and quite possibly this (or something close to it) is what they're worried about.

On a personal note, I live in Florida so right now I'm trying very hard to think happy thoughts!!!!!

And how about this for some wild speculation: Edgar Cayce predicted that Atlantis would RISE. Now his prediction WAS for 1969, but I have read SOMEWHERE, in my years of traveling in the world of the wierd, that there are some who speculate that Atlantis and Antartica are one and the same. This would quite nicely explain why we've found so few Atlantean artifacts....BECAUSE OF ALL THE ICE!!! (did you hear that critter from Ice Age right there? I did!)

I'm going to go freak out now.........
and look for a boat!

Webbot is stupid and it can't forsee the future. It finds what people are talking about the future and goes off of that.

And people can't predict the future.

So no.

I am with you on that one. I wish I was born 100 years ago. This all sucks. Even a better outlook still sucks. God, are we sure the LHC was not turned on for a fact.....Because I feel like I live on another time line than I did 3 months ago.

Timewave 0 definitely showed a dramatic, yet steady decline starting on Oct 7,which has been happening as shown, starting exactly then.Written years ago.The UFO no show(s) were both (not)predicted by the steady line, which would have been perturbed if it had come to pass.So I count those as hits. The victory of change over habit will be smooth through the election because lies and nomenclature can't hide who is truly right.

Heres why i dont believe webbots can predict anything, they simply use search engines to look for the most popular key words relating to your search. Start typing some of those terms in, youll find others.

Webbots can in no way adequately predict the future, for now. Although some of things mentioned there might happen, this is not the webbots prediction, this is human anticipation on the internet.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It's not a google search bot. It is a highly complex linguistic computer program.

Please do your homework before spouting off about your opinions.

My understanding from listening to the time monks is that the webbot is tapping into the collective subconscience of the internet users and whether we like it or not the events will happen. We have no control of the future events.

I agree with this, it plays on fears and searches it collects. We have had 8 years of people playing on fears...."ENUFF ALL READY" We have been a divided since the first "funny"election, time to start thinking how "WE" are going survive rather than "WHO".

There truly could be something to this. To those of you so passionate about whether the web-bot is accurate, or not, what makes you so sure?

Non-locality tells us that, on the quantum level, or the fundamental level of both matter and of energy [same thing, really], particles can defy the "laws" of physics and interact despite time/space restraints in those "laws".

I'm just as skeptical as the next poster, especially in light of the fact that these guys are making such money from their technology. However, if they're right, and the world is falling apart, can we really begrudge them for making some money while they still can? Maybe they're thinking of their families. Maybe not. I try not to waste too much time speculating on another human's motives.

That all said, there seems to be something prescient about these Web-Bots. We'll find out soon enough!

Jury's still out...

If they were in it for the money then they would have sold it to Microsoft or some other entity. The CIA was interested.

They have been very clear in their interviews on C2C and Rense that they will not accept $$ from anyone that cannot afford it. Yes, the reports are very expensive but they also provide free information in their interviews and websites.

Their record speak for itself.

From reading your post The only thing that comes to my mind about a giant loud noise would be some thing from outer space like a asteroid coming into our atmosphere

Now that would make a Thundering shock heard across the world

i know i would have a bowl release if i looked up and seen a asteroid

We all live in very interesting time and WE the human race have come to earth to be apart of this

Love light and peace to all

The webbot predictive functionality is based on the fact that by using spiders or "bots" to scan the internet for keywords that appear with great frequency, that some how via predictive linguistics they (the so called time monks) are able to get a window into the collective unconscious of humanity and using the superposition of Jungian archetypes among other critical lenses for viewing the data, can get a snapshot of the future.

This is in turn based on experiments that yielded up precognitive results in test subjects who react to images shown to them milliseconds before actually seeing the images themselves.

Sound confusing? It is and at best is a pseudoscience or one that is in such a nascent stage as to be unreliable in terms of its ability to accurately predict the future. The "monks" lay claim that even researchers at Princeton are doing the same type of work to help bolster their predictive abilities. They may be, but you don't see the academic there doing the type of scaremongering that these guys do.

In the end, what we get from their work is a window into the collective fears of humanity (or that portion that uses the internet) and not a window into the future based on what fear du jour feeding trough web users are lapping up at over any given period of time.

Look at the hubbub around their Oct 7 doomsday scenario. An event great than 9/11 was predicted but stretching out over months. It doesn't take a swami to see that with the impending financial collapse, that anyone could make a prediction about events that would impact millions and get close to the mark, then crow about their own ability to see the future.

George Ure uses half baked economics to bolster his view of an imminent societal collapse. Look at the nonsense he spews on his site. "What if you had to go camping for the rest of your life", Summer of Hell 2009, interwoven with NWO conspiracy talk and other fringe doomer theories. No one talks about why these guys do what they do. FOR PROFIT. High prioce so called data runs that dole out info to the select few who pony up the dollars for the info. Its Doomer Porn, plain and simple

And trying to link the webbot with Timewave Zero is a specious endeavor at best. McKenna was a genius and a pioneer of sorts in mapping the inner landscape but even he cooked his data so that the ultimate novelty point coincided with the mayan 2012 calendar date once he found out about it.

So move on from putting any stock in these clowns.

Oh my, I have been lurking for too long and finally decided to log in and maybe post something of interest here.

I was interested when I read about this webbot thing, so I decided to do my own experiment.

I copied all the text from this thread into notepad, took out all the punctuation and stuff, then threw the data into a database to see what the webbot would make of this thread.

I think I may need a bigger sample, but I got this:

webbot
people
would
future
event
shock
release
global
prediction

I dunno what you guys make of it! Its tricky because a lot of the words are things like "and" "the" etc...

If any of you guys would be interested in this, just send me a message and I can send you the data in a csv file.

Maybe the admins could do this on a larger scale across ATS, they can access the source date more easily. It would be interesting to see what came out!! I predict something like this:

Lizard
Men
Planet X
Eat
Baby

What?

You have access to the webbot source code?

What do you mean a "database"

I don't get !

Please explain how you got your results and the details of your experiment and why you think it is similar to the webbot.

I just counted the occurances of all words mentioned in this thread.

My understanding is that the webbot works in a similar way to this.

They obviously have a bunch of data cleansing formulas on top, but I just looked at what came out and kind of guessed.

I took the data to count several posts back and the top word was "the" with 253 occurances. The top word with any meaning was "webbot" with 26 occurances, although looking again the top occurance may be "time" with 27 occurances.

Its easy enough to crunch the data, but they are experts in semantics who can interpret the data better than I can.

I just fancied having a look for my own personal interests really, but if you want to look at the data I will make it available.

webot cant predict the future, the software search the web for common words related to dates ..

so if everybody discuss 2012 disaster, the webot will find out ... thats how this thing works ...

It seems it is a common misconception that the webbot ( maybe they should have chosen a more secriptive name) just searches the web for words.

It is a very intuitive, complex computer program.

From the website

halfpasthuman.com...

Note we do NOT use 'conscious expressions' located on the internet, nor simple word counting techniques.

I don't claim to understand the science but as a former computer programmer myself, I am very impressed when I listen to Cliff High ( the developer) in interviews. I urge you to click on the link I included. It is quite fascinating stuff.

Ok, I just did the same crunching on the RSS feeds that are available here and got:

Anyone, conspirarcy, people, local, real, debate, bush, something, across, found, thought, global, attack.

Since re-reading the Article you pointed out and the one at urban survival, I see that this is not exactly how the webbot works.

The process description at Half Past Human seemed like a load of mumbo jumbo to me, but it is late here!

The urban survial description made more sense to me.

There is a list of "target words" (I want to know what these are and how they are defined). When one of these target words is found, a sample of the text surronding is taken. This data is then crunched through layers of unknown logic and then plotted on charts.

The results are taken from words or phrases that have the highest occurances on these charts.

The whole process seems to be a bit of a grey and murky area to me. Dont get me wrong, I am not trying to bash it, just trying to understand how it works, so I can make an informed judgement as to if there is anything in it.

It would be great if ATS could do an interview with these guys to find out more about how it works! There are more and more threads on here featuring the webbot.

At the moment, I see it kind of like the whole Nostradamus thing, there may be something in it, or it may just be people reading something into it.

I would love to chat to these guys about it and see how their techniques are supposed to make the results more accurate.
