There isn't much to say about this, I think. Express outrage or something maybe but the lady is saying what she wants to say and it's being reported.

I, uhm, I'd like to think this is wrong and that American civilians are by and large above wide spread/large scale civil unrest. I have been getting emotional too over this and my back/sciatica has been increasingly detrimental over the past few months...maybe I'll get some dope like this lady did and just zone out til whatever happens is done.

Last night I watched on C-SPAN a panel of 3 Dem/3 Reps and in the closing arguments one of the Rep guys was just about to bawling from sadness what he perceives as a great horrible change... On of the Dem women was getting red too in closing remarks.

Jane Fonda is a credible source for socio-political commentary all right. No doubt all the vets will be coming after her. They still haven't forgiven her for cozying up to N. Vietnam and mounting the anti-aircraft gun. No wonder she is afraid.

Annie, GET YOUR GUNS! Honestly though, and you can put this to a debate...do you really think black people are going to riot over this? Most of the blacks I know (and there is quite a few ) can't stand Obama. Plus, they already feel disenfranchised and damn near refuse to vote anyway. They don't feel that there is a chance in hell that their voice will be heard no matter who gets "elected". Calm down folks, shizzle will be biz nass as usual.

I am torn on this.

I think it is an unpredictable situation. If Obama loses, the sense of frustration will spill over in certain places (and I think there are preparations for this being made, as there should be for any election, but especially this one because racial tensions are increased).

These things can easily escalate. Riots often happen when there is a sense of extreme injustice. So one small group of angry people, if not handled the right way by the authorities or any policing force, angers a thousand more. Retaliation increases and it becomes self-perpetuating in my opinion.

There might just be a few short bursts of "minor incidents", things that aren't even worth reporting. Which might help prevent anything larger. I don't think many would openly protest and revolt if they thought they might be alone in their stand.

I have personally seen a drunken gang of twenty misbehaving turn into a riot involving a few hundred (if not a few thousand, it was spread over a very large area). And in that case there wasn't any perceived injustice, and it happened in no more than an hour. Ultimately, it ended after eight hours with riot police charging. Few arrests were made, but the damage was extensive. There was nothing to loot fortunately (it was a music festival), but vending vehicles were torched, as were trees and anything else flammable.

So, I guess I can see it as a possibility. So many hopes are pinned on Obama, the sense of loss if he doesn't win is going to be big.

Ugh. Okay, any credibility that source may have had went up in smoke the second Jane Fonda's name was mentioned. Disgusting anti-American woman!

I think she is much worse. She is one of those goofy liberals who would move if a black family moved into her neighborhood. Hopefully, she will stay in Italy. She is making a veiled threat at the poor and middle class white Americans. She wishes blacks would kill Republican whites. She has a low opinion of blacks if she thinks they will go on a mass killing spree because an obviously successful rich black man does not get something he wants.

Erica Jong is a far left relic from the 70s and Jane Fonda is a traitor to her country. They are not credible. These are the same people that said they would move to Canada if Bush was elected in 2004. Unfortunatly Jane is still here.

There will not be a civil war if Obama loses. Maybe some isolated pockets of unrest.

Maybe I need a valium and acupuncturist too. Without a doubt tensions are high but I am not sure anything unusual is going to go down. Most people will just zone out and sit back and watch. I really think Ms. Jong is lost as to the whole spectrum of what people will do.
