That certainly is a very interesting video, I have no idea what those UFOs are and I can't and don't have any intention to debunk this, or
anything.
Sadly, for all the time I've been here on ATS, I've come to a conclusion that 'video evidence' will never be *good enough*, at least for a certain
number of people (including myself).
There are probably hundreds of thousands of this kind of footage that some one sees something in the sky that they can't explain.
UFOs are not proof of alien visitation. UFOs are just UFOs.
I DO believe in alien visitation but the only thing that will confirm that my belief is true is when an alien craft lands in my town square and says
'greetings earthlings, we come in peace'

Easy.
Ground based spot lights shining on low clouds.
What was the approximate altitude of the plane that flew through the vid? WHat was the weather that night? Were there any outdoor venue's in the
area? Heck, it could be some teenagers on the next block with some lasers!
Get the data then we'll talk.

More lights in the sky..and they are declaring alien intelligence. Geez it doesn't take much for some of these believers. Yes they are lights in
the sky and no it does not prove anything. You guys love to believe government authoriteis when it is convenient for your beliefs don't you. The
airport/military says they have no clue as to what it is. Here's a different scenerio hat shows how you guys love to pick and choose. REMEMBER
THIS IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE..so don't be coming back to me saying when did they say that..I am only using as an example as to how you guys pick and
choose. Let us say the government came back and told you it was airplanes/military experment..choose whatever...that was doing formation practise out
there. All of the believers would be screaming that they are lying to us...and don't BS us this is what you would do. See what I am getting
at...you will believe or disbelieve the government authorities depended on what they say and only if it supports your beliefs.:

What about strobe lights proves that the craft is man made? Sure, it could be an indication, but it's not proof. Maybe, if it's an alien craft, then
maybe they don't want to cause unnecessary trouble by having one of our aircraft crash into their ship/probe/whatever. I'm not saying it's
definitely an alien craft, but I'm just trying to make a point that the lights don't prove the thing is terrestrial.

I actually saw this thing in Tinley Park. No joke, I saw it. Here is my story:
Me and a bunch of my friends had just played baseball in the late after noon. It was hot out and we kicked the other teams butt. We came back to my
friend Johnnys in Tinley, from Orland Park the next town over and BBQed drank some beers etc. We were having a good time partying it up. It was a
very clear sky that night but the night was really pretty dark. NNormally near chicago you can only see a couple stars but out in Tinley away from the
city you can see everything. Round 12:00pm, could be later; but it generally seemed around that time. Facing east, towards lake Michigan, at about a
80 degree angle (almost directly above but not quite) we see three red lights. Crazy, we all start joking around, take a few pictures, one guy takes
really shakey video. We even woke up my friends dad to confirm our sighting. The red light was really bright, in the same way that a vcr light is in
a completely dark room. Just like the History chanel said, it was a triangular shaped arrangement of lights. The UFO lingered for about 30 minutes or
so moving in direction only slightly. But it did seem to move up and down in terms of altitude. At some points it seemed as far away as a star
appears in the sky. This was probably because of our perspective being almost right under it. At other times it seemed to come really close; with in
15,000 feet in my estimation. But as I said it was definetly moving up and down. I was immediatly convinced this was nothing that i had ever seen
before as were my 10 or so friends. The lights did seem to blink once in a while but not with any sort of reasoning and that could just be a result
of the atmosphere. When the thing actually left; it appeared to us that the craft went straight up out of the stratosphere. And it happened really
quickly. I know the history channel said it went south but the way we saw it the UFO went straight up out of the stratosphere. Again, all we saw was
the lights as I said it was really dark that night. This is about everything that I can remember it was a few years back after all. Also about 2 or
3 weeks later there was an article in the Chicago Sun Times about it. So, yeah there it is.

I guess I need to see the whole thing.
How can we say its one big object when one minute its like this
Then its like this
Has it just turned and skewed its angle?
I dont see why it must be one object. Just because things move in synchronized mannors doesnt mean they are attached to one thing. Many people can
dance in the same pattern but they arent all linked up, unless you bring up quantum physics but thats not the same.
And as for the old lantern talk, no doubt they have new ones now that dont use candles its 2008 now we have flameless lights. Could be electric
candles tied together. Or satelites, how many satelites are up there? I hear they put up about 200 new ones every year so half those lights we see are
probably those.
Artists impression of our earth satelites (dont know how true its probably rubbish?)
I dont know I need to see the whole show. As for that airplane pilot, those guys cant speak up for ages or they lose their jobs so I doubt we will
hear from him too soon.

The lights definetly moved together and I think geometry proves it. I will say, the History channel failed to measure the distance between the lights
in the first frame of film and the last to make a comparison. Any how, if they could take an on screen measurment and estimated that the base of the
triangle was 1000 ft across; they should have been able to calculate the entire triangle.
After seeing it in person I dont think anyone could contrive what I saw. I'll still call it a UFO, because maybe its a product of advanced military.
But my rationale tells me otherwise

I love this.
Title (and I quote): "Tinley Park UFO - Calling all the UFO debunker's out - Debunk this one!"
Debunk what exactly. If you're asking us to debunk the contents of the actual visual images shown on the video... well I'm afraid that there's
nothing to debunk.
I 100% believe in the fact that there is something out there. But three lights in a dark sky that obviously form a triangle (erm... three lights will
either form a triangle or a straight line... nothing else!). I am afraid that means and demonstrates nothing. Nada.
As a previous poster says - show me a UFO on the Whitehouse Lawn.
But a couple of solid white lights in a triangle formation does not make this worthy of the title.
A video worthy of the title "Tinley Park UFO - Calling all the UFO debunker's out - Debunk this one!" would be a completely unidentifiable object
in broad daylight like nothing we've ever seen before with thousands of people looking up at it and hundreds of news reports...
This is NOT that video.
Sorry.
I'm not debunking it - because there is nothing to debunk in terms of actual contents of the video...

as a side note,, military would NOT conduct tests with a craft of that size over the most POPULAR air space in America.
Oh, bet me, Bubba!
I lived in Deland Fla- there was crap flying over (actual military craft) that would have made an aerophile drool in his shorts. The fun parts were a)
a bomber- a BOMBER! tried to land in the apartment complex I lived in. This thing was so close- before it went over, I swear I could see the pilots in
the cockpit. EVERYONE ducked, ran for cover, ect. I actually saw a stealth bomber doing flights over the city in broad daylight.
b) One night, I was trying to get to sleep, and a BRIGHT light hit the window. Thinking it was cars in the opposite parking lot with their headlights
on, I decided to check, then try to roll over and sleep. I opened the blinds a bit- and I saw a *bright* spot of light was playing over the opposite
buildings. No sound.... just the light gliding over the buildings. I slept under the bed that night....
The military just don't care...

What the skeptics have said is that the only thing that can be determined about the video is that it shows three lights in the sky. There is not
enough information to infer anything else. The lights, at this point, are ufo's. Unidentifiable lights do not an alien make.
The only explanations of what the lights are come from those who say the lights are an alien vessel. Oh, some have said the lights are an advanced
aircraft, I'm not sure if those guys would be classified as skeptics or believers.

There's something fishy about this entire Tinley Park UFO story. TPark is
a Chicago suburb, yet I saw no mention of it on the local news in 2004,
or in the newspapers. The notable UFO's do make news here, but they
are not that frequent. The Ohare Airport UFO was one of them.
Anyway, whenever there is a book, movie, or TV show connected with
a specific UFO incident, you can bet your last dollar that it will be hyped
to the max and blown all out of proportion. When I heard that a TV show
was going to discuss an "extraordinary" 2004 UFO incident that didn't even
make our local news back then, I immediately dismissed it as yet another
money making scheme.
When some QUALITY alien proof arrives, it will be broadcast by all media
and pre-empt regular programming. When Monday Night Football is
interrupted to bring you a bulletin about something 1500 feet long hovering
over a neighborhood in Cleveland, we'll then have something to TRULY
get excited about... and a bit scared too!

Whatever this may be, I think it is awesome. I'd love for it to be little green men or anything like that. Motivation for flying around the same
spot for hours? Who knows? Who cares? What ever the aliens feel like doing is their business, we do not know their ways very well. As for a test of a
super secret aircraft? Could be. Does the military conclusively test aircraft on a regular basis around where this guy lives? I dunno. I cannot
prove it but it would be cool if it was a UFO. As far as we are concerned, it is unidentified to this thread for the time being. So it is
technically a U.F.O. until further info comes out. That's an argument from ignorance. But, then again, it works out. Great post.

So lights in the sky constitute evidence for intelligently controlled spacecraft that have (presumably) traveled all the way to Earth for a spectacle
of extrasolar show and tell?
Hey, Aliens, do me a favor and hide behind Jupiter. You'll be just about as useful as you are now, seeing as how everything you guys are doing up
there FAILS TO PROVE YOUR EXISTENCE.
These lights in the sky could be a whole list of equally improbable phenomena before you should even toy with the conclusion that it's of an
extraterrestrial origin.
...and would you (the op) stop with telling us to watch friggen' UFO Hunters? You're appealing to authority and are trying to infuse that same
logical fallacy into us. The Sci-Fi channel is notorious for (frankly) crappy shows about all sorts of paranormal subjects. The only thing good to
come off Sci-Fi is Battlestar Galactica.
