I'm not sure if this is the proper, forum, but it looks as if it is.

Anyways.....

I wasn't aware of exactly how many NEO there was.

neo.jpl.nasa.gov...

This site has roughly 30 of them from April to July.

If you click on the NEOs name in blue, you can actually watch its course.

The June 26th NEO called 25143 (1998 SF36) comes the closest, and if you watch it, it looks as if it collides with Earth. Oddly enough, on the June 27th, not the 26th. But it misses by 5.0 Lunar Distance.

Its some interesting stuff to watch.

Actually, Asteroid (2004 FY15) which happened yesterday, came the closest.

0.0019 AU. I know thats still pretty far, but its also very close.

a good site is www.spaceweather.com.... down near the bottom they have info on near earth asteroids. there's 589 known as of today.

This NASA page says that 2004 FY15 was 0.6 in Lunar Distance (143,163 miles). That's too close!!! How close can these things get before we get smacked? No one says anything until after it happens. We are gonna get clobbered very soon.

Thats the fun of NEOs. Could be tomorrow, could be 100,000 years from now. As of now though we probably wouldn't see it comming.

The asteroid Toutatis will pass within 4 lunar distances on Sept 29, 2004. It has an earth crossing orbit and measures 4.5 X 2.4 X 1.9 kilometers (kinda lopsided, double shape) that would be enough to cause seroius damage if it got caught by earths gravity and dragged in closer.

However, I believe God has all things in control, and that includes all NEO's

Toutatis is supposed to be visible with binoculars, so at least we can watch it and see what it does.
