"If you are stretched and squeezed by everyday life, then you might be in perfect shape to explore caves.
Enter a narrow natural passageway that may lead to simply mind-boggling underground world - to get away from the depressing sights like these... Caves may lurk right under your feet: a fascinating and unexpected environment, which is often known only to spelunkers and dedicated Gollum-seekers"

Wow.
Some amazing pics of our subteranean underworld -

Fascinating pictures... truly amazing sigh, for sure.

Just one small correction... where you read

Bonito region in Brazil (and especially the quiet town of Mato Grosso do Sul) boasts many marvelous underground lakes:

it should be read

Mato Grosso do Sul region in Brazil (and especially the quiet town of Bonito) boasts many marvelous underground lakes:

Since Bonito is a town, and Mato Grosso do Sul is a state.

And just for the sake of curiosity, the word "Bonito" means "pretty, or beautiful/handsome".

Absolutely breathtaking!

I loved seeing the images of the Crystal caves found in Mexico in 2000.

I've never seen crystals that large before.

I always thought things that size were only in the movies!

Great find. I've beeen to a few locations before and they were amazing but I never knew about the giant crystals.

Way cool thanks

Thanks for the replies-theres some great pics below of the Gaping Gill cave in Britain
(recently watched a horror film called 'The Descent' so you wouldn't get me down there
)

Pictured: The awe-inspiring British cave that could swallow an entire cathedral whole.

The stunning interior of Britain's biggest known cave chamber is revealed in these awe-inspiring photographs.
The pictures were taken as Gaping Gill was lit by floodlights to give members of the public a rare chance to venture into the cavern which is so huge that the entire nave of York Minster could fit inside it.
