The thread title was labeled "Terrorist Attack" not riot. Riots just so happen to be a possibility but this thread itself is more about the safety of people.

I could care less what happens to Obama or Biden, but a million people and no security spells trouble and not just in the terms of riots.

It seems as though you are trying to say, although not in so many words, that Obama supporters are more likely to riot than McCain supporters.

Is this what you are attempting to portray?

Yeah he is clearly letting his political views and his personal animosity towards Obama. insinuate that very thing...

im gonna have to side with AndrewTB and his opinion....

It does seem to me like they are allowing anything that will happen to happen. or at best a best try. Kinda like some other False Flags that they just let happen.

I am not one to let people put words in my mouth. That's not what i'm attempting to say, so please do watch yourself on your assumptions.

I would be saying the same exact thing if McCain had a party of this magnitude planned with little to no security.

Ive always been pro-law enforcement and have studied social issues in the past. This is a recipe for disaster.

Yes, its in the secret services hands. They are damn good at what they do, but they do not have the manpower, nor experience with crowds of this magnitude.

I ask this..... Why wont Chicago lend a hand in keeping things under control?

I've been to kids parades that are far more organized.

With a bit of alcohol, the smartest person is an idiot. We all know what idiots can do in a short amount of time.

The whole entire United States government and their $700 billion bailout (redistribution of our taxpayer wealth) is SOCIALIST.

Why such short-term memories folks?

I posted and shared this link earlier. Chicago has a big role in this. The secret service is running the show.

Early details about ticketing information are coming out this afternoon for what Sen. Barack Obama's campaign hopes will be an Election Night celebration in Chicago's Grant Park.

An electronic invitation being sent exclusively to Illinois supporters also says gates for the event will not open until 8:30 p.m., well after the end of the downtown rush hour.

After proving a Web address for ticket applications, the invitation states that "an official printed ticket is required for entrance" and that each ticket will be valid for two people.

The e-mail also says that supporters will have the printable tickets e-mailed to them prior to the event.

"One request per person," the invitation says. "Duplicate requests from the same name will be rejected."

As expected, it appears that people will need to pass through metal detectors to gain entry, similar to going through security at the airport.

"For security reasons, do not bring bags. Photo ID is required. Please limit personal items. No signs, banners, chairs, or strollers allowed," the invitation says.

Like virtually all electronic communications from the Obama campaign, there is also pitch for financial contributions and volunteer opportunities incorporated into the invitation.

An Obama spokesman declined to say how many tickets the campaign expected to distribute or how large a crowd it was building the event site to hold.

One poster on that site also indicated off-duty police are being sent to protect the McCain Chicago Headquarters. (Not a bad idea!)

Daley bristled when asked if people would be screened before entering Grant Park.

"We're not gonna be screening people going to the park. You'll be here for the next two weeks. You just can't do it," he said. "That is not us. No, no. We don't screen anybody in the park. No. That is up to the Secret Service."

Kristina Schmidt, a spokeswoman for the Chicago field office of the U.S. Secret Service, refused to comment on the agency's plans for the Obama rally.

She would only say, "Any event that is covered by the Secret Serviice for a [presidential] nominee is typically secured and swept prior to the arrival of the protectee. That's standard procedure."

The Chicago Sun-Times reported this week that the Chicago Police Department's retired resident expert on security planning, has been brought back on contract to quarterback logistics for the Obama rally.

The bailout bill was a damn joke. We all know it...I emailed my state reps and senators telling them not to do it. More than half did anyway....and i'm still mightily ticked off about it.

Who the can we trust anymore? Corporations are corrupt.....government is corrupt...our media is corrupt....sigh.

I by no means said that. I asked you what you meant, and you answered, thank you very much. May I advise you to also watch your assumptions.
