Mysterious panther sighting in australia

My local paper in Campbelltown, NSW, Australia ran an article after receiving numerous calls about a sighting of a big black cat in local national parks.

One local said he had photos of tracks he beleived to be a panthers.

The tracks photo is on the article. What do people think? Real or not real?

Without an object like a shotgun shell, a pen or a handprint for a scale theres no real way to determine how big the print is just from pics. I wouldnt be surprised to find out theres a unknown big cat in the outback but till more info is given i cant say for sure on this one if its a big cat or just a overgrown mutt.
