Hard to believe nearly a year has passed since the start of this thread and we are no closer to ending human trafficking now than then.
It is sickening that this sort of thing happens to anyone let alone kids. My biggest point of anger is the harming of a child. I have a very difficult
time controlling my rage when it comes to someone hurting kids.
The age of these kids being rescued is jaw dropping as well. When I was 10, 13, heck even 15 I was running around in the woods behind my house, riding
my bike, and just trying to enjoy life as best I could with my own situation. Sure I thought about sex but I could not imagine being placed in the
role of being a sex slave or being prostituted out.
At 17 I had my own issues but still could not have imagined being a sex slave for someone and them making money off of my body. I am truly disgusted
that someone would ever do this to another human being let alone someone who has not lived life yet.
I have read numerous articles and studies on this sort of things. I have watched many documentaries on this stuff as well. I am saddened every time
but I feel a need to know as much about the subject as I can so that I might do what I can to help end it. The “johns” are just as bad as the
pimps when it comes to this sort of thing. If not for their demand of girls/guys this would not be happening.
I often wonder about some of the porn industry. More so the stuff that is accessed over the internet. Regardless of what I think about the stuff a
part of me wonders how many of those girls/guys are really doing it to make money and how many are there against their will. Certainly there are those
who do not seem to be “normal” almost as if they are under the influence of something. It makes me wonder who all of it can truly be regulated to
make sure that they are of age and there on their own will. It seems truly impossible that this is happening.
I understand that human trafficking and sex slavery has been going on for centuries, but that does not make it any better now than then. If we are
really going to end it we need to step up and make it known we do not desire the service and do not take lightly to those that do.
I hope each and every person involved in the most recent stings and those still free face the punishments that they deserve and have coming. I hope
they realize the pain and destruction they have been a part of. Most of all I hope that these victims can get a chance to move on and attempt to live
a normal life.
