I'm tired of seeing everyone arguing among themselves over the topics that mainstream media has planted in their heads, instead of the REAL problems.

Too often people argue about whether it's the dempublicans or republicrats who are to blame. They are one in the same, and it is neither that are the TRUE enemy of the american public. The real enemy is the super rich elitists who control both parties.

There is tons of discussion about tax cuts, and redistribution of wealth through tax cuts etc.
These taxes (which are illegally collected) do NOT go into government coffers to be used for highways, schools, or any other government program. They go directly into the pockets of the fat cats who control the federal reserve. (which is no more federal than federal express, it is a privately owned monster)

Our constitution is being subverted, and our rights are being slowly eroded.
Meanwhile the average american is more concerned with what sports team won the last game, or who did the cha cha lastnight on dancing with the stars, or what one contestant did or said to another on the latest episode of survivor.

"The powers that be" have half of america too busy drooling over television programs, and the other half too busy arguing among themselves about the pointless topics that have been chosen for them to argue about, to actually open their eyes and see the real problem.
And of the few who actually have opened their eyes, most of them are too scared to even speak badly about their government, let alone do anything, out of fear that they will be the next one put on "terrorist watch list." We can't even go to a peaceful protest without being labeled terrorists now.

We can't forget about the "patriotism" blinded automatons who froth at the mouth and go into convulsions anytime a bad word is spoken against their perfect, infallible government who could never do anything that would harm them. These people are far from patriots, and do more harm than good to the entire nation.

Last but not least we come to the know it alls who regurgitate what they have been told, without ever stopping to think if these things are actually right or not. (i.e. anyone who thinks this is a democracy, or was ever supposed to have been one. those who talk about tax cuts without realizing that the entire income tax system is a fraud. those who support king george's war without realizing that is was based on lies, and that congress is supposed to issue declarations of war)

The REAL problem with america right now is that most people can't even see what the real problems are.

The easiest way to put this all into context is to relate it this way.
We are now on the titanic, and it is going down.
There are alot of people who refuse to accept that we're sinking because their fragile little psyche can't handle the truth.
There are people arguing over whether we should even lower the life boats, and if we do who should be first on them, and what should we do once we're on those lifeboats.
There are the people still trying to understand why we're sinking.
There are the people running around trying to patch the holes so we won't sink.
There are the people cowering in the corner crying "O why would god allow us to sink?"
There are people casting ballots to elect a new captain of our sinking ship.
There are people all over the place pointing fingers and blaming eachother because the ship is sinking.
Meanwhile the rich and powerful are already in their lifeboats with all their precious cargo, and the poor are locked below with no chance of escape, while the band plays on...

We need to stop squabbling over all these smaller subjects and realize that these are only the symptoms of a much larger problem.

We are like the slaves aboard the Amistad, and if we don't revolt and turn this ship around, we have no chance of EVER being free again.

the real problem is to wake the sleepers in mass numbers.

since the truth about this is banned from television there should be done something about that first, we the people have to take things back, the media, newspaper, banks, and than we can have a real government.

I agree but I think it has to be done in reverse order.
I don't think we'll ever get the media, newspaper, banks etc. back until after we have taken the government back.
They would try to stop us at every turn.

I refuse to allow the problems we are having consume me and make my life miserable.

If more people had been paying attention to whats been going on the past 20 years they too would have a lifeboat with precious cargo. I certainly have my lifeboat ready and waiting should I need it. I stay watchful and ready to act.

Until I see the need to act I am enjoying each and everyday of my life. I will not be lead by fear.

I consider life to be one adventure after another. I will do what I have to do to survive.

As far as the media is concerned, I have always known how dreadfully idiotic they are.

Life goes on.

I agree, although I think we need to let this ship sink and build a new one. I think we have progressed to a point now that we could write a new constitution like the old one but put more fail safes into it to neuter the government.

As you said the people that have woke up to this mess that we are in already know the problems and why the ship is sinking.

First this is not a democracy it is a republic. If it were a democracy there would not be electoral votes and the president would win solely by popular vote. Also remember the pledge of allegiance “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and the REPUBLIC for which it stands…..”

I am not sure why we keep this myth going. I would love to see a democracy but sadly it stands far back so that it does not get dirty from the political, big business owned government corruption. Strangely people keep on believing that one or more of these politicians are going to change things and be some sort of savior. Both of the two parties that have continued to hold power have bent the public over so many times that the public basically begs for more now.

I agree people are too swept up in their TVs and what goes on the thing. At the same time though here we are sitting and typing away talking about how stupid people are when we could be using this time to do something else like maybe fixing things. I think that for the most part the majority of us humans are nothing but people caught up in our own worlds not really working for change. After all look at all of the complaining that goes on not only here on ATS but most of the internet (the part not taken up with porn), heck even in online gaming people do nothing but complain. Seriously the “dream” of democracy never got a chance in this country even the writers of the Constitution had to sacrifice things like making slavery illegal and more just to get the blasted thing signed and agreed upon. Half of the signers were federalists wanting bigger government. In terms of history though the Constitution is relatively new with some basis on law from the place they wished to leave to begin with.

So what are any of us going to do about it? Are we going to stop posting stuff that will not wake others up (even though we hope it will)? Are we going to get up leave all of this behind and start to work on fixing things? What will finally push us to that I wonder? Right now things are not going to change the same stuff is going to happen each day and each of us (no better than the mindless bum watching the tube) are going to still be here tomorrow posting away because that is what we have become comfortable with. Why? Because we hope to gain information and share it with others who we will in reality do nothing but argue with anyway.

Not trying to say you are not right but after some time here I have thought the same thing and seen it posted before. And guess what it has reminded the same and has not yet changed. Sure some people leave but others come to take their spot. Those that leave apparently only got tired of being here or found another form of entertainment because they have done nothing to fix things or make big news trying to do so. I do though agree with what you are saying just seen it before.

This nation was FOUNDED as a constitutional republic.
They brainwash people into believing that it is a democracy, but you're right it's not even a democracy.
What it really is, is debatable but I lean towards the belief that it is a fascist state, or to be more acurate a corporatist state.

I have a good job, i make good money, i pay my bills and taxes on time. Ive been doing this for years and nothing has changed for me. Its funny to read all the doom and gloom ive been reading on here for years about how things are about to "change" but they just havent.

Im still doing the same stuff and living the same way i always have. Whats up with everyone else? Still preparing for the panic that is posted on here year after year that NEVER happens?

Wow...sorry to see you wasting the few years we all have in life worrying about things that may or may not happend and havent happened yet. So sad really. THAT is the problem with America.

Good topic OP! S & F
I agree with you and do not have much too add.
It's sad but now that everyones gilded cage is getting tarnished
they are hopefully waking up to this reality.

Hey like someone said I am making the most of my daily life
but I will not be surprised as the ship sinks.
Just watch all the rats flee.

I'd love to see a poll of the posters on ATS. My wager is that over half are manic depressive or clinically depressed. Now THAT is sad. Life is what you make it. You wanna come to a site and debate about things that never happen then thats fine, but everyone else is out enjoying themselves with the little time they have...but they are called sheep LOL. Hmmm...who is REALLY the sheep if you think about it then?

the reason wealth wins out most of the time is simply a matter of different priorities.

the wealthy by design, spend most of their time on wealth management.

the commoners spend most of their time taking care of basic needs.

inverse priorities for both, thus inverse focus for both.

it's the old 80, 20, rule.

the wealthy can pay someone to take care of their time-consuming basic needs, 20% of time spent on basic needs, 80% of time spent on wealth management.

inverse for the commoner, 80% of time actually taking care of basic needs, 20% of time spent on wealth management.

the wealthy (wall street) have enormous fear of losing their wealth

the commoner(main street) have enormous fear of losing basic needs.

of course, all numbers, and degrees of each, are approximate, but it does show the disconnect between both parties
