I am curious why so many republicans are so worried about this? Wealth is currently being redistributed from the working class to the upper class. Obama seems to want to give more to the middle class and below, by taxing the wealthy.

I don't understand why it is hunkey dorey to funnel the wealth to the rich, but it is blasphemy to even suggest the distribution of more of the money to the working people? It seems like an interesting double standard to me. What is really strange to me is that most of the people who are crying about it are people who would actually benefit from it. Most are using talking points that have been generated by people who would be hurt by it though.

I personally fear it will be like the clinton era where he quoted he would not tax the middle class, but did that happen? hell no. small business owners like my self are going to have to either cut jobs or lose incentive to grow. my 2.5 cents

First off practically everyone in the civilized world says they wont tax the middle class and practically everyone raises taxes there first as it's simply the easiest way to fill tax coffers given how these people are normally too busy and don't have corporate accountants and lobbiest to safeguard their interest.

As for your small business claims which 'how to attack progressive reform ideas' GOP/reactionary text book did you cut and paste that from? Why do so many feel inclined to believe that taxes on the 'rich' and 'wealth distribution' means an attack on the middle class instead of rightfully believing and insisting that in civilized countries your supposed to tax the very upper bracket for all your worth given how they use our minerals, our water, our land and basically everything else that is ours?

Small business owners have absolutely no place in the neo liberal corporate capitalist system and it's not the small taxes on you that is the problem but the serious lack of effective taxation of those above you that will rob you of your chance to compete.

Stellar

What I find about this is that he is actually trashing our constitution and he is actually discussing the best way to redistribute the taxes.

This is why it is a bad thing. A lot of people seem to be caught up in this we are redistributing the wealth to the richest people which isn't the case. Here are three different articles explaining this.

www.realclearpolitics.com...
www.actionamerica.org...
www.nationalreview.com...

The top 50% of tax payers have the highest tax burden. Anywhere from 35-45% of taxpayers don't pay taxes, they get a tax return.

We already have a very progressive tax system. And these are the tax brackets,

www.moneychimp.com...

And here is an article showing that the tax breaks for the wealthy actually increased government revenues.

www.moneychimp.com...

So Obama knows that raising the taxes on the wealthy is actually going to reduce government revenues, but he intends to make up for this by cutting the federal budget.

So my question is why is he cutting money supply to the government and then going to try to make up for it by cutting the federal budget? He is going to increase government spending by a massive amount.

His answer is that because it is "fair."

www.youtube.com...

Then you have this gem of audio that just further increases the evidence that he is a Marxist.

I would rather a Marxist then a capitalist pig. And if I have a say in the matter, I would certainly pick his earlier work (as he later gravitated to paring socialism with autocracy, yuck)!

Unfortunately, neither McCain nor Obama are anarchists, communists, nor socialists.

One thing that is reminescient of a socialistic principle, does not socialism make.

Just the same, I would not call McCain a socialist because he wants to redistribute the wealth of the public to buy up bad mortgages. It is just not that simple.

It's because of people like my brother-in-law.

He's under the impresion that his parents will be overtaxed/lose benifits if Obama gets in because they make more than 200,000 a year. They actually make millions a year I found out when I was doing their books for them.

All I could say was, "I guess your dad will have to sell off all those cars he has." He spends all his profits on restoring old cars and has millions of dollars worth.

My brother-in-law basicly gets his check from them and makes a nice lump of change and because my sister also has a decent income it may affect them also.

Me, I own a car and a computer and that's it. He (brother-in-law) owns a very large 2 story house, 4 cars, 2 campers, 2 boats and the list goes on and on, and on top of it had to declare bankruptcy at one point.

So too bad I say he should have done what my parents have been doing. They spend nothing in fact sell whatever they can for a profit and keep all the cash not to mention have 0 debt.

So those are the type that are afraid of the new tax idea's by Obama.

This boils down to loop holes and tax brackets, right?

I thought, once upon a time, that taxes (federal) were on businesses and only on net profits...I wish I was young and naive again

My Father makes enough to be in the crosshairs of O-bambi's tax hikes and he is far from "wealthy". He makes a decent living but makes enough to be a source target for his wealth redistribution BS. It makes me sick to think that he will be taxed even MORE because he actually went to school and made something of himself, unlike the other deadbeats in his family. Your comment about how that guy should just "sell more cars"makes me sick. He earned his money and "toys". Why should he now be forced to sell the rewards of his hard labor? Are you willing to give up your big-screen TV, Nintendo Wii, and internet to help pay your taxes?

I have read enough and understand enough to support my personal view of Obama as a maxist. I actually paid attention in history class and am horrified to hear the same s#%& coming from his mouth as Lenin. F#$^ Obama and his rhetoric. For extra credit look how "great" Chicago and Illinois as a whole are doing; fiscal, crime-rate and gun-murder wise.

Obama is an EMPTY SUIT.

I've had enough socialism this past year to fill me for my life already..oh, and for the record, I DON'T like McCain.

This is what we face folks. Posting stuff like this on this forum is pointless, because its full of Marxists, socialist and Communists. I think many people voting for Obama are either just gullible, or they are truly Marxist/Socialists. The same goes for our media, which is why they are deflecting this story at all costs. We are in real trouble fellow Americans......

The one message I have for you Lucid Lunacy, is that you better be willing to fight for it, because many Americans would rather die than let their country be hijacked like that. People will fight.

Blah Blah Blah, Wake up people, read the Constitution. Does this not bother you? "Oh but it's better for ME," you sound just like the "capitalist pigs" you are criticizing. What it should boil down to is whether this is Constitutional or will have an effect on the Constitution, and YOUR rights, and YOUR freedoms. You can make more money, but once they take your freedom, you'll have a hard time getting it back or will never get it back. Stop giving up your freedoms, the Constitution limited government for a reason, and you are willfully handing over more and more power to a government that has done nothing but let us down. Have you not noticed that the more and more government has expanded, the more and more corrupt it has gotten? Think about it.

You know, its funny Marcus, his supporters will spend all this time defending Obama against charges that he's a socialist and tell you that he's definitely NOT one, then turn right around and tell you how great socialism is.

IMO, it speaks an awful lot as to what the man is that most of his vocal supporters do, in fact, support socialism.

Starred and flagged.

Unfortunately denying hypocrisy does not seem to be a strong trait for many obama supporters.

And to the europeans wondering why most Americans don't like the idea of socialism, have you known anything but socialism in your entire lives that would allow you to make an educated comparison?

Re-distribution of wealth is nothing more than a fancy way of saying "Look out America, here comes more entitlement programs". But this time the idiots on Capitol Hill get to choose who gets what and how much? How's that working out for ya so far? Huh?

Spread the wealth my Aunt's rear end. Wake up people you are not going to get a check in the mail. At the very best there will be some kind of tax credit but at what cost?

Relax....when all this is over with the playing field will be level. Now which playing field would you like to play on? One where the sky is the limit? Or the one where we all wear grey uniforms doing Tai Chi in the streets?

As for me all I have to say is "You take away my ability to fail and you take away my ability to suceed".

Yeah, I'm a Capitalist Pig! You betcha!

It's just a matter as to wether you earn the money through sales .service and distribution or general labor.Or the money is handed to you that didn't earn in either sales, service and distribution or general labor.

What is the incentive to earn more when your tax burden will grow to aid in the support of those not willing to attain independence on their own?
Remember the story of the ant and the grasshopper?

I don't believe either John McCain or Barack Obama are socialists or only care about the upper 5% of income brackets.

I believe that McCain want's to continue the Bush tax cuts and Obama wants to let them run out and add in his own middle-class tax cuts.

The question we should all be discussing is, did the Bush tax cuts help or hurt America? I believe they hurt the economy in the long run, and I believe that trickle down (and trickle up) economics does not work.

I am curious to see what the McCain supporters think.

Just as bad as that video of McCain where he states Obama's plan to take money from the rich to give breaks to the poor. Honestly, do neither of these guys realize that once you are recorded on an audio tape or video tape that it is out there and anyone can go back and have a look see or listen? I guess neither cares, I mean people seem to believe McCain is actually against Obama's "socialist" ideas, too bad.
