In retrospect, why Bush twice?

Because John Kerry was just as boring as McCain is now.
The guy who gets the most publicity (good and bad) wins. Its always been that way and always will be.

Just looking at George W. Bush's legacy, just from his first 4 years in office, it becomes very clear how much the American public is unable to vote responsibly. To say justify electing that mobster a second time just because there was an ongoing war is cowardly. It has come to pass that Bush will leave office with this ongoing war (however just or unjust) anyway.

Here in NZ, if you are 17 it is illegal to not be enrolled to vote. After enrollment you don't actually have to vote. I stress to people that if you don't know who to vote for, or can't justify your vote very well, you should not vote, period.

It really frustrates me that it always comes down to undecideds whose votes will be swayed by signs on the side of the road. "Vote Hickes!!" BS.

A little secret the popular vote never counts. the electoral Collage elects the president. And each state has a certain number of votes based on their population. Bush won more states, which gave him more electoral votes.

Each state has a number of electors equal to the number of its Senators and Representatives in the United States Congress.

got it from wiki. the number of reps is based off the states population.

most states have laws that say all of their electoral votes go to the candidate that wins that states popular election, some states say the electors can split their votes, or they can vote for which ever candidate they want to.

That's why during a presidential election you keep hearing the magic number 270. if you receive 270 of the 538 (a majority) electoral votes you won the election.

Because Kerry was worse. That is the 100 percent truth. Kerry has been a flip flopper all his life. Kerry has that "look" that makes hard working, NFL watching, gun owning , beer drinking, men want to slap the crap out of him.


That and we were at war. So there was a bunch against the DNC at that time.
