The main problem with Iceland (besides being almost bankrupt) is the immense political corruption. The (UN)government officials are so corrupted that you would not believe what they get away with. They have bankrupted the country with their plain stupidity and blind capitalistic views (and still they rule). Of course they accomplished this along with their friends, twenty or thirty very immoral and very very greedy bankers. They refused to intervene and stop the madness and just cheered them on. What thinking government would let their banking system grow 10 times the GDP. And what government would put a retired former prime minister (and an educated lawyer) as the head of the central bank. The government was warned many times. Reports were written by specialist pointing out that the crooks were playing a very dangerous game. But they did nothing! They just dismissed the reports and talked about a very stable and capable banking system. Most people believed this rubbish (well ... not everyone has a degree in economy and people should be able to rely on the government protecting their interest) and those who pointed out the dangers inside Iceland were called lunatics and conspiracy theorist. And they were just laughed at, mostly by the government. WELL NOT ANYMORE!! I live in Iceland and day by day something is being dug up. Corruption, corruption everywhere and it only gets worse day by day!

Iceland is a country ruled by corrupted crooks and unethical politicians with ties into every government office or institution. And now they are pretending to start an investigation in to the whole matter. Hence they are going to investigate themselves. What a joke. This is the real reason Iceland is bankrupt, not Gordon Brown, although he is certainly not making things easier with his terrorist laws, malevolence and bullying!

Oh and did I mention that there is not a single independent media in Iceland. The bad boys own them all. No wonder we are #ED!!
