Newspaper shows Obama belonged to Socialist Party

worldnetdaily.com

....while running for the Illinois state Senate in 1996 as a Democrat, Obama actively sought and received the endorsement of the socialist-oriented New Party....

Obama's campaign has responded to the allegations, denying the presidential candidate was ever a member of the New Party.

But the New Zeal blog dug up print copies of the New Party News, the party's official newspaper, which show Obama posing with New Party leaders, list him as a New Party member and include quotes from him.

This subject has been discussed in the "Decision 2008" Forum before. However, for the VERY first time, it has been published through a News Outlet. Not only that, but it is also currently featured as a Headline on the Fox News Homepage, so it has essentially gone Mainstream as well. Keep your eyes and ears open for further developments today. Let us see if this becomes a major MSM event or not.

I don't usually count on World NUT Daily, but in this case they seem to be correct. It would be better to have some backup from another source. If you find it, I suggest posting it. It would be helpful to the story.

What's with all the Obama-bashing on all the conspiracy websites? They're all pratically getting flooded with anti-Obama garbage, from socialist to non-citizen to anti-gun. Seems a bit dubious to me, especially since it's so close to the election. Frankly, this recent flood of anti-Obama smearing wreaks of propaganda and seems intentioned to herd the sheeple towards the McCain.

I will never vote for the son of cain, the same person the rothchilde have openly stunted for, the same person the the zionazi lieberman has stunted for, and the same person the vatican insinuated voting for.

I'd rather throw my vote away by voting third party or might just vote Obama just to counter all the illuminati sponsorship of the son of cain.

socialism - capitalism = slavery/revolution

capitalism - socialism = slavery/revolution

One becomes Communism, The Other becomes Corporatism.
Both become the same.

Given a choice between a candidate who recognises that government has a social responsibility to the electorate and one whose only loyalty is to maintain the status quo so that future bankers can mess up the world again, I know which one I'd choose.

Unable to win debates, present a coherent platform or appoint a VP with half a brain (going strictly for the womens vote in the hope of picking up some billary supporters) has the McCain campaign now resorted to more scare tactics and innuendo?

IMO the alleged capitalist nature of governance is now dead, and in the hard times ahead there has to be a sense of social responsibility - not capitalist socialism which is where bush is heading, but socialism with an emphasis on social responsibility.

The way so many Americans are horrified by the word 'socialist', I'm surprised that you can't buy a 'socialist' costume for Halloween. After all, it seems it's the biggest modern day bogeyman for a lot of Americans.

Trick or treat!

I think your opinion would go a bit further if you had a bit more to offer. And it seems to me that the so called socialist views are attracting more folks than the views of Republicans and consevatives. What could possibly be so wrong with an organization that seeks to help their fellow man?

This is nothing more than scraping the bottom of the barrell for a last handfull of sh## to sling.

I cant help but get annoyed at people who aren't American, declaring that we are and should turn to socialism. You guys have no idea what you're talking about. There will be civil war in this country, before we convert to socialism.

No doubt, Bush's bill to save our economy was pretty socialist, but that doesn't mean we should vote in a REAL socialist as president.

The American Nazi Party formed [in 1959] with the goal of reviving Nazism, this time in the United States of America. It was led by George Lincoln Rockwell and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

...

In 1970, NSWPP [National Socialist White People's Party] member Frank Collin, broke away from the group and founded the National Socialist Party of America, which became famous due to an attempt to march through Skokie, Illinois, a community with a large Jewish population that included numerous survivors of the Holocaust.

A new group claiming the name American Nazi Party has been founded, and according to its website, "is a Political-Educational Association, dedicated to the 14 Words". The organization states that it is "committed to bringing American National Socialism, first created and embodied by our late Commander George Lincoln Rockwell, out of the past Phase One activities which at the time served their purpose well, and into the 21st century."

The National Socialist Movement uses a similar name, America's Nazi Party.

en.wikipedia.org...

i've known for a while that Socialism is just the 2nd step between Capitalism and Communism. well, we've admitted that we're a Capitalist nation for some time now, and i'd rather our (mis)leaders not pull another fast one on us...

am i wrong in concluding that Socialism is no more than revamped Nazism?? as far as i know, we never wiped Nazism off the face of the Earth when we defeated Hitler - there's gotta be some group out there that's keeping the Nazi ideas alive... just because we killed a lot of Nazi's doesn't mean we killed Nazism.

i have a strong feeling they moved right into our own backyard.......

You americans have been brainwashed into believing that socialist aspects are the second coming of hitler. It has been proven that big corporations do this so they can keep their big profits instead of letting social programs that truly help the people come into play. Look at your health system for example.... most other First world countries have socialist health care systems and we don't have to worry about dying because we don't have enough coverage.

Socialist ideas are the way people ask for the government to enforce that they get a system that they want mandatory for all people regardles of their stature.

De-regulated systems end up causing higher costs and tend to give worse service due to profit being the primary concern.

Billions has been spent to make sure that big corporations don't get reglated by making the people believe that accepting it would be a step towards communism. Shame that the sheeple have no insight on what's going on.

And those same people will usually tell you that American conservatism is eeeevvvviiiilllll.

My response would be: Pot, meet kettle.

As for the topic at hand, I don't see what the big deal is. The Democratic party that he belongs to right now is a socialist party, as far as I'm concerned. That doesn't mean all of its members are, but the leadership appears to be.

Yes you are wrong. No wonder America has such a problem with 'socialism' in any form. I think you need to check out the history of socialism and read up on the hundred years of socialist ideology and practice that existed before the Nazis actually came about.

The New Party is an umbrella organization for grassroots political groups working to break the stranglehold that corporate money and corporate media have over our political process.

Help!

(sorry)

The New Party is a pretty interesting thing, actually, a Social Democratic party, with a focus on breaking down the 2-party system that most of us profess to hate so much.

Social Democracy

Social democracy is a political ideology of the left or centre-left that emerged in the late 19th century from the socialist movement and continues to be influential in many countries worldwide.[1]

The nature of social democracy has changed throughout the decades since its inception. Historically, social democratic parties advocated socialism in the strict sense, achieved by class struggle. In the early 20th century, however, a number of socialist and labor parties rejected revolution and other traditional forms of Marxism and went on to take more moderate positions, which came to form modern social democracy. These positions often include support for a democratic welfare state which incorporates elements of both socialism and capitalism, sometimes termed the mixed economy or the social market economy.[2] This differs from traditional socialism, which aims to end the predominance of capitalism and replace it with a worker-controlled economic system. Social democrats aim to reform capitalism democratically through state regulation and the creation of programs that work to counteract or remove the social injustice and inefficiencies they see as inherent in capitalism.

So, whether Obama belonged to this party or not doesn't matter to me. It is NOT traditional Socialism (not that I'm afraid of that, either).

Isn't it good to be educated instead of scared by words?

You hit the nail on the head.
Maybe I can help.

The Republican's home-stretch campaign strategy is focusing on the idea of Obama as a socialist. Meanwhile, some Democrats feel Obama leans too much to the center.

McCain Suggests Obama's Tax Policies are Socialist

Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Saturday accused Democratic rival Barack Obama of favoring a socialistic economic approach by supporting tax cuts and tax credits McCain says would merely shuffle wealth rather than creating it.

It's their last great hope. They may change their mind again (probably will), but from what I've been hearing it's going to be All-Socialist, All the Way until Nov. 4.

You're probably right that there will be civil war - but it might not be for the reasons you think.

It will be because people cannot afford adequate healthcare, education and food, whilst the fatcats that caused all the troubles sit in their ivory towers swilling champagne and laughing at how they conned the public into bailing them out and putting themselves in debt for years to do it.

I can't help but get annoyed at americans who think they are living a capitalist dream when the country hasn't been capitalist for decades, but is more keynesian in it's economics.

This knee jerk reaction to ANY socially responsible programme is nothing more than the programming received during the McCarthy era, where social responsibility is somehow equated to communism (which has never existed either) and is perpetuated by those at the top who control the vast majority of the wealth but still want more.

There is also a major element of selfishness whenever some americans talk about socialism or social responsible programmes:
"Blah blah, why should I pay any of my hard earned cash to bail out those who can't help themselves, blah blah blah"
Here's a newsflash - It's called a SOCIETY and when we live in a society we have a moral obligation to help look after its less fortunate members.

If Obama wants to do this, then I for one would applaud him.

Wow even when presented with pictures of the man and a roster with him included you deny it. Yet i see posts about Palins clothes? Give me a break, when are you libs going to start looking at the real issues here. I cant believe you guys can turn a blind eye to this. I hope Obama gets elected. Just so when the *snip* i can say i told you so. Oh and to the person who said theyd rather vote for someone else just to keep someone from getting into office, thats the most un american thing ive heard of. Throw away a vote instead of voting for someone you have really researched. If you dont want to vote for either, then just dont vote. YOu say socialism isnt that bad.....hm name one area of the world thats socialist thats doing great? Get a grip people.
