Our nation is sick.

This pretty much sums it all up.

The world has been telling you this for years, finally the time has come Americans are starting to see how sick their country is.

Who could seriously even think of doing something like this...

As much as I hate the scum that killed the bear cub and as much as I agree that America is viewed fairly badly by the rest of the world, it's hardly a story unique to America. Whilst obviously elements of the story are specific to America, sadists and psychopaths exist all over the world and I read similarly shocking animal cruelty stories in Britain too. It's not as if America has the market cornered in this respect.

I hope you're not trying to suggest this is just about animal cruelty? The bear was left at a "liberal" college and was clearly a political message. This is just one step away from hanging a man from a tree draped with a candidate's name and would fit right into the political tactics in places like Zimbabwe. Think about what you're supporting.

Er, no. Where did I say this was "just about animal cruelty"? I didn't and I'm confused as to why you think I am suggesting that.

Think about what you're supporting.

WTF? What am I meant to be supporting?

Is this one of the first signs of hate crime against a possible Obama - Biden presidency?

Naaaah. It was just some idiots doing something stupid.

There have been incidents with McCain signs too.
Not with dead animals - but with dog poop etc etc.

Poor bear.

Bad people!

Exactly. And went over the top and killed an innocent animal with complete disregard for its life or the message they were sending.

It was most likely a hate crime. And like the investigating officer said, once they catch the whoever was responsible, they will give them the attention they were trying to generate.

Peace

OK, we have Obama signs, a bear and a University.

It's an omen.
The only connection I can make symbolically is that all three seem to relate to Communism/Socialism.

Does no one else read?

The perp's didn't kill the bear. They found it while searching for firewood. Then they pulled a stupid prank with signs that they grabbed at random.

Sheesh, people! :shk:

Yeah..this is what I read:

Wildlife Resources agents will discuss their findings with the District Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges would be appropriate. The discussion with the DA will not take place until all perpetrators have been interviewed. Johnson notified the State Bureau of Investigation early in the investigation and has briefed the U.S. Secret Service throughout the process of the investigation.

All the dust hasn't settle yet. They are getting the attention they deserve, starting with a full service investigation.

Peace

Slow down there, Turbo. If you're referring to this post by Anonymous ATS, then you've gotta take into account the fact that it was posted by "Anonymous". These don't actually appear in threads right after they're submitted, and only become pubically visable when a mod finally approves them. In this case, many people replied before the post was approved.

Those who dumped the body may not have killed it (if they're telling the truth), but there is a "perp" out there who did shoot this poor cub in the head, and that's still quite illegal as far as hunting laws go.

That bear should feel pretty insulted with that Obama sign hung around it's neck. Not even a dead animal deserves that!!

I got the impression from your post at the top of this page, that you were implying this is just an animal cruelty case. But I didn't read any of your earlier posts, so I apologize if I got the wrong impression.

No problems. Don't get me wrong though, any animal cruelty aspect is a big concern for me, however, that's not the only thing that I am bothered about. I'd like to think that it was a given that the race-politics was a genuine issue.
