Just curious to see how yall think the elections are going to turn out. I want to come back here afterwards and see whom is right.

Here is what I am guessing:

Both the Republican and Bradley effect will come into play in winning McCain the states republicans have held and need (VA,NC,OH,FL).
A lower than expected turnout in the African American communities and student turnout will play a huge role in McCain getting the delegates he needs to make 270.

The other candidates we have forgotten about will also play a factor in swaying the vote in McCain's favor.

It will probably be extremely close with Obama having about 264 electroal votes and the rest being awarded to McCain.

Obama will have a major lead early on, but McCain will surpass him after everyone has gone to sleep.

I forgot to add: I believe the media will call it early and continue to call it early through out most of the night.

I think there's a good chance McCain will win the popular vote, but Obama will win the electoral college, thus being a reversal of 2000; with the Republicans doing the crying this time.

I like to think that Obama would win by a landslide, not because I personally agree with his platform, but because I have pipe dreams that the country will stand up and say "No" to McBush.

I predict an Obama win because people are too stupid to stand up for themselves. The sheep will flock to him only for a mass slaughter.

If nothing changes, Obama will win by 1-2% in the popular vote and 30-40 electoral votes. McCain will outperform his current popular vote numbers by around 3-4%, but it won't be enough.

Socialists in America and the world over will party like its 1917.

(We're so screwed).

I think that a lot of the younger voters will forget to go vote, especially the ones who have never voted in a presidential election before. (I almost forgot the first time until my friend called to ask if I had done it yet, so this gives me reason to think others will do it too. ) Thus losing Obama quite a few votes, possibly enough to lose him the election.

I think that the polls are misleading because this particular presidential election is different than any other election we have had due to the "race factor". I believe that there are many people who claim they are going to vote for Obama so as not to be seen as racist, but once they get in that booth they won't vote for him. Whether it will be because of his race or because of his policies or other reasons I don't know, but I believe there are a lot of people claiming they are going to vote for him that actually won't.

I also think the polls are misleading because it has been my experience that the older generations don't particularly like to discuss who they are voting for. They were raised to not talk about politics for the most part. That whole "don't talk about politics or religion" thing. I also believe that the older generation not telling who they are voting for could cause several of the states where the polls say the race is close to go to McCain.

Overall, I think that this election will be a close one. I'm not sure if the reasons I listed above will be enough for McCain to pull a victory out of this one, but I have to say I hope so.

If McCain wins we will hear nothing but cries for a recount, and Democrats will claim the race was stolen. Especially if he wins by a small margin.

The only way the results of this election will not be contested from here to eternity will be if one or the other wins both the electoral college by more than 100 votes and the popular vote by thousands. If it is close, the losing side will cry foul.

I also predict that if Obama loses, some will claim that the "racist system" kept him from winning. Those who voted for McCain will be branded racists for not voting for Obama.

And if McCain loses, some will claim that fear of being labeled racist caused people to vote for Obama.


And there you have it. My "predictions" for the upcoming presidential elections. Now I just have to wait a few weeks and see if I'm right.

I think Obama wins. Too much money invested in this guy for him to loose to guy who couldn't win 8 years ago.

Honestly, I pitty the fool who wins, because they are gonna inherit one hell of a mess, and will more than likely have the sure to be financial meltdown pinned on them for all eternity. Perhaps that's why Obama was chosen by the PTB. At least he will sound eloquent as he explains the end of America to us all.
