Sarkozy bank account raided in internet scam

www.telegraph.co.uk

Mr Sarkozy complained to police in September after 'small amounts' began disappearing from the account. Police said financial thieves regularly make lots of small illegal withdrawals as a means of trying to keep their crimes undetected.

The embarrassing revelation comes at a time when the French president is trying to portray himself as a leading player in the international financial crisis.

Parisian thieves obtained confidential numbers and passwords so as to withdrawn regular slices of Mr Sarkozy's annual salary of £195,000 a year.

I guess this shows even the mighty can get scammed. I think the thieves who did this deed are about as bright as the guy who hacked into Palin's email. What a way to draw international attention to yourself.

I think I'll hold off indefinitely on that internet bank account. Although I do wonder how anyone could get a hold of his user name and password. Aren't you supposed to keep that to yourself?

So, this is WHY I do not want to use any internet account !

Too easy to hijack a data, everybody will tell you the same - this is only the question of time when somebody will hijack your data.

So, I think, easy comes easy goes !

Well I think its a little funny.
But the fact is they never will be caught.
This happens millions of times a day they are professionals.
They put it into an offshore account with an atm card.
Even wear a disguise when withdrawing the cash.
More than likely they are doing it from some African country.
Imagine withdrawing money from the president of Frances account.
That is just astounding.

... and in a matter of days, if not hours, the scammers will, no doubt, have ample opportunity to ponder about this rule of life.

I wouldn't be too worried.
Not everyone's account is likely to get as much specialised attention as Mr. Sarkozy's.
