Sandra van der Meer who does the vocals for Tom Sigmond's One Moment gets my vote.

I don't know why, but when she hits those powerfull high notes, the hairs on my arms stand on end and I feel like I'm floating ... maybe that's why they call it 'Trance' music!

The vocals start at 1:50 with the best part starting at 3:33 if you don't want to listen to the whole 8:29 track.
They used to play it often on Sirius 33.
YouTube doesn't do her justice.

The most beautiful female vocalist (singing wise) is Justine Suissa.

I love "On A Good Day", and "Out There (5th Dimension)", true classics...I know at least three other ATSers would agree too.

I've got to agree with you there. I'll listen to anything she sings. 5th Dimension is one of my favs. Haven't heard On a Good Day yet, will have to search it out.

Here's a better quality version of the first video I posted in this thread. To embed Youtube videos in high quality, add "&ap=%2526fmt%3D18" after the video-id. The videos will take longer to load, but has better sound (and picture).

During the summer Olympics, I saw a chevy commercial.
The background tune was amazing. As I searched google, I notice a bunch of other folks were asking the same question. "who is the singer in that Chevy commercial?". So I wasn't alone in wondering!
This is the song, and the singer.

For videos that are not embedded in high quality, you can still watch them in HQ mode on Youtube, by clicking the Youtube Link and then add "&fmt=18" at the end of the url.

I'm certainly happy that you mentioned Regina Spektor. As far as I am concerned, Regina is one of the most interesting female writers and performers around right now. She has such an interesting and enthralling voice. I just can't get enough of her.

Here's a few more;

Theme Song to Weeds

Summer in the City (live)

Consequence of Sound

Poor Little Rich Boy (Lollapalooza '07) (live)

Back of a Truck (from her album 11:11)

Minne Ripperton-Inside my love.

Hands down, the best female voice I've ever heard.

Oh btw, if this has already been posted..then my bad.

Lord how could I forget Minnie Riperton's incredible vocal range -- five and a half octives! Every time I hear her hit those "impossible" notes, I literally get goose bumps up my spine.

Indeed. The high note at 1:24 is incredible.

It's a shame she died so young ya know?
