Pretty much. Higher unemployment means businesses are (presumably) running more efficiently. Yeah, that is the spin I'm going with on this one... reality may set in around noontime.

.next day at the water cooler.....

OH MAN! We only shed 651,000 jobs that is no where near the 800,000 they thought we might hit! RALLY TIME!

Do you get it now?
Yeah their idiots but hey they are well paid idiots and well we aren't.

Short rally. They must have figured out that losing 2/3 of a million jobs is bad.

Oh great, Obama is talking again.

We'll see what happens after he gets done talking, he is stroking his ego about how his "stimulus" is going work bragging about how 25 jobs were saved because of it.

25 new cops fresh out of the academy.

Well Obama is giving a nice warming speech at the police academy right now, he is talking about the nations crisis as usual and promising change.

That should boost the markets for a littler bit.

But it actually went down.

Anyone placing bets on 6400 today?

They should stop putting him on TV for awhile, I have said it before.

Bragging that government jobs are proof that he is creating jobs is nuts.

The headline on finance.google.com reads:

"STOCKS NEWS US-Dow and S&P advance on energy, bank stocks"

They do this all the time. By the time an article is written and posted, the market has completely tanked or rebounded.

Journalists must HATE this market volatility.

I think the government should give out an IPO.

You would see the market sky rocket!!!

The market is holding somewhat steady for right now.
