And we enter the final hour! I think it's going to be an exciting one.

I saw some talk about utilities above....get this: We've been on the "budget plan" for our gas bill. The bill is $180/ mo - just got a note in the mail they are raising it by $100!!!!

Personally, I wouldn't advise anyone to stop paying your utilities and house payments. Credit cards ect - that's a personal call. I know what I'm doing and I'm not gonna tell ya here ::giggle::

I continue to find this thread one of the most interesting and educational on ATS.

Oh and btw, CNN is leading their top story at 3pm with Chris Brown ughhhh Look over there everyone!!! Not at the free falling market - let's talk celebrities!! We all know that effects our day to day life. Ugh!

When Kramer flew off the handle at the caller who asked two days before they went belly up if he should dump his Bear Stearns stock, advising the guy (yelling at him, actually) that Stearns would be fine and not to even consider emotionally selling off that stock, I wondered how he kept his job. Since then, I've changed my view on him and now just wonder how he called that one so wrong. More often than not, Jim is pretty damn accurate and he's one of the people on my list of folks I'd love to sit down with at dinner and ask questions to. (Along with Jesus, John Elway, Rod Serling, Bobby Cox, X-files creator Cris Carter, Dale Carnege, and Glenn Beck)

I know where you're coming from.

Laughing aside, we may well face some very serious choices in the not too distant future.

(Anyone who thought I was tin hat will doubtless now be convinced...)

Geithner Says Administration Will Ensure Banks Get Funds to Avoid Collapse U.S.
www.bloomberg.com...

March 5 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told Congress the Obama administration will act to make sure the nation’s largest financial companies can get government help if needed to avoid collapse.

“It is very important -- and we will do this -- to make sure that the major institutions in our country have the resources and the funding and the ability to play their continuing role in our markets going forward,” he said in testimony today before the House Budget Committee when asked about Citigroup Inc., which received a new round of federal aid last month. “That’s a very important commitment.”
What role is that...Galactic Master of the Universe Vampire...

Serious question.

Do you think it is time for me to cash in my Government Thrift Savings Plan or should I let it roll?

Well, for what it's worth, I still have a little in my 401k (er, 100.25k now) which I am not touching yet. If we bounce later this summer, I will go ahead and pull it out. It is worthless for me to do now.

Then again, I am lucky because I am young(ish) and my 401k is only a fraction of my annual salary (while I am employed).
