The past week's action in the stock market has many participants believing that the market could move lower as the next level of support on the S&P 500 is at 705 from Nov. 1996. Other support levels include 685 from Sept. 1996 and 660 from August 1996.

Re your link

THAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST NEWS ITEMS IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS

Your other link, although arguably more tin hat, is nevertheless arguably in keeping with the realities.

Sobering gas cutoff link from Hx too.

(Hopefully this might help some keep pace.)

KD had this to say about his SitX prediction:

"Its not tinfoil when you get to where the math makes an outcome inevitable.

We are very, very close to that event. The pension problem is what will send us over the edge."

That was on his forum. He makes a good point.

Taking this dire prediction, he's pretty much saying don't pay your bills, use the cash you have and go buy supplies. Should I pay my accountant money to do my corporate taxes next week? Should I even worry about it? Pay the gas company a couple hundred bucks or go buy more stuff to tide me and wife over. His thread has got me thinking about timing. How soon could utility companies be affected?

OMG!!! Seeing you jump in here to actually offer assistance, advice, and condolences is bringing tears to my eyes! Really! I am about to jump out of my chair here at work, but you and the others on this thread are keeping me in check. I hope I can convince my man to do something, and fast. This is very hard for him to swallow, as it must be for most people. On top of his loss, no less, which you so graciously acknowledged.
I'll get out of the way now and "let the big dogs" continue with their work here.

And we aren't even in the last hour yet. In fact we still have 15 more minutes to go.

I have feeling that we are going to see DOW 65-- by the end of the day.

With threads like this we actually have to wonder why we see small up spikes?

People are utterly clueless

I think everybody that has paid attention knows this is just the start we haven't even gotten half way across the threshold yet.

Dow chemical has hit a 24 year low and on top of it they are getting sued by rahm to force them to go through with the take over of rahm. They bailed when the plastics deal with Kuwait fell through. Not looking good for them right now guess they are the first ones to hit the 2 lost decades....
