Asia falls again overnight and the US dollar strengthens. FTSE retested its recent bottom this morning. The Dow may retest the Monday low or bounce off 9150 and close at Standers 9272. A retest of the lows would be bullish with the dollar in a downtrend.

China is going to need a 500 point make up rally tonight or its going to be totally decoupled from the rest of the world markets.

Tisk tisk tisk,,,,,

I told you two dips before the falling of the cliff! They have to follow the protocol of the last game you know.As Hx has also shown they are even rehashing the same news at the same junctions in the game. It is all a big game of chess and check mate is around the corner!

As far as China goes they just went to far with their everyone must bow to us syndrome and they are getting dumped on to make an excuse for the rest of the players to bail out. Look out below!

Thanks, I thought that after the moderate rebound yesterday things were going to be better today.

But I find Fishy that Buffet could cause so much problems for the China markets.

Oh,!!!!!! The Dow is sinking!!!!!! just at opening.

No good.

Still they are propping the retailers already to expect a bad holiday sale.

I don't know why they are doing that instead of giving them hope

HOOPS sinking it goes Dow is down.

We shall seeeee... I am all excited to see if my prophetic vision for doom can be right two years running. Christmas WILL fail! And everyone will be like "Didn't see that coming!" ..

Then I will have to make another thread and search through the 10,000 replies in this thread to show all our predictions that came true.

As far as the day-to-day markets I will await for Stander to post his graph with the lines to show where the market will go. He's creepy. He might really be the trash man at Goldman, posting all the goodies he finds in the morning pick up onto this thread..

Energy firms AEI files $863 million IPO in U.S.
Hochschild Mining profit down 24%
SBM Offshore sticks to guidance, profit up 12%

They all have a short tale with them BUT you have got to loove the first comment!

The Update, which comes as no surprise, is an advisory that the Chinese bubble is bursting, and stay away!

Creation of “railway czar” position “similar to those of the moving picture industry and baseball” suggested as a way of stabilizing railroad freight rates.

C. Kai-Ngau, Bank of China GM, says China trade situation damaged by chaos

“New York State Economic Council states $10M is wasted annually in government in New York State.”

Bears more cautious starting the week, content to “play for small technical reactions” but not following up aggressively. 1-3 point declines early in majors including US Steel, American Can, AT&T, but pressure lifted about noon; good recoveries in leading stocks and general market firmer.

R. Babson (economist, made good bearish call in fall 1929) calls drought damage overestimated, says Midwest farm and general business situation will improve markedly in final quarter. Also notes commodity production has declined about 30% vs. 10% decline in consumption; predicts shortages soon, restarting of production to supply demand. Doesn't yet recommend buying stocks, but feels “time is approaching when buying opportunities may appear.”

Still little public buying seen in stock market; activity mostly professional. Large and increasing short position, which should eventually be a buying factor.

Option market said more active, puts (bets on stock prices to decline) more difficult to buy than calls.

Harvey Firestone, Pres. Firestone Tire & Rubber, states America is on eve of greater prosperity than past 10 years. Expresses belief in Ford's statement there will soon be work for everybody. Says company has met depression by cutting overhead and lowering prices; plant now running night and day, 6 days a week.
