You are right we need to start getting into survival mode,

Because the truth people is that is not vaccine or anti viral medicine to cure or stop this virus.

So is up to us to help ourself stay ahead of the game.

And for the believe that this is the opportunity that government has been looking for to divert the population from the economic woes I believe on that also.

Yep markets are down due to a possible pandemic... if there's a real pandemic and borders shut down and people stay in their houses, you can kiss goodbye to the whole economy, even if it was already doomed for starters.

Pandemic = no mass protests against government's BS like tea parties, anti-war protests, anti-deficit protests, anti-big government protests.

People will want more government and even maybe martial law if it's gets out of control... and we know they are gonna abuse their power like they did during Katrina... taking guns so people cannot commit violence if there's a panic...

IF they declare martial law and come after the guns, it was staged.

EDIT: Will airliners need another bailout?

Japan Cuts Economic Forecast to 3.3% Decline, Worst Contraction on Record
www.bloomberg.com...

April 27 (Bloomberg) -- Japan’s government said the economy will shrink a record 3.3 percent this fiscal year as exports and corporate spending tumble at an unprecedented pace.

The Cabinet Office cut the forecast for the year started April 1 from a January prediction for zero growth. Finance Minister Kaoru Yosano told parliament that the economy remains in a “crisis” as the slump in exports and industrial output take a toll on employment and companies struggle to raise funds.

The world’s second-largest economy would contract as much as 5.2 percent without Prime Minister Taro Aso’s 15.4 trillion yen ($159 billion) stimulus plan, funding of which was approved by the Cabinet today, the government said.

I tell you this reek of conspiracy, but then again why Mexico targeted first, because the unrest and the drug wars that their government was feed up with for the last few month.

I bet those are now down due to the panic.

Now not more protest to the economic scam because we have to deal with the state of emergency by the Homeland of Terror.

Incredible, who said we needed another 9/11.

That is why is call a "conspiracy" and been ATS a "conspiracy site" I leave it to the imagination.

Still this will play well in the markets for the big pharma and the tech as new vaccines and technology will be seek to battle a pandemic.

Still if the government starts making mandatory for people or even children to get flu vaccines I will let you know before hand and this no conspiracy, that up to day is not vaccine or viral medicines that can kill this virus and probably it will not be any in the near future as this virus is a mutation of about so far two or three different strains.

Marg - Actually I heard this morning that, while strains of the common winter flu have proven to be resistant, early testing has shown that this particular strain may be controllable with an anti viral.

Not really since all I read in the links you provided was more unfounded speculation. Speculation does not equal proof no matter the volume of speculation.

I will let you know this much, my daughter worked for the CDC as a student in her last year of college and a year ago this virus was already been taken into consideration but the problem was that even a year ago was not way to tell how strong the strain was going to be and how inefficient the anti viral medicines and flu vaccines were going to be against it.

So if you believe that is a "cure" then good for you and I wish you luck.

BTW you know what the CDC is pushing now as a "treatment for swain flu?"

oseltamivir and zanamivir

Guess what oseltamivir is no other than the infamous tamiflu and we all know the horrors stories about that flu vaccine.

The second one zanamivir is a variation of tamiflu.

I already feel very safe and secure, but hey the markets on those two flu vaccines because that is what they are and Rumsfeld are going to be doing great
