House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday there are no immediate plans for a second stimulus package, but she didn't rule out the possibility of having one in the future…
President Obama last month signed into law a $787 billion stimulus package. Pelosi said her preference is to see how that works before moving on to an additional stimulus package.
Despite concerns about an increasingly unsustainable debt, opinion makers are urging Congress to eschew those concerns and pass another stimulus package. Many economists believe that the first stimulus package was too small and contained too little in actual stimulus spending and too much in tax cuts. Their message this time around: go big or go home. We have already gone big. How much bigger can we go?

GASTONIA - It was a different kind of Mexican standoff. Roughly 75 of the 240 workers being laid off from the Freightliner components and logistics plant Friday showed up for their final day of work wearing sombreros - a symbolic protest against the truckmaker's decision to open a new $300 million plant in Mexico while layoffs cripple the company's American work force.
