no, his life is what it is.
he decided to speak with exaggerations about his situation and the media as usual, looked into his story.
any good reporter would. he made his bed now, he should lie in it.
i'm done defending my opinion.
if you can't accept it, oh well.
joe wanted an answer from obama about his plans. he got his answer and maybe he should have said it was a plan for his distant future. he talked like he was ready to buy this "250,000" business next week.
i repeat: joe's an adult, he brought it on himself.
i don't go around spouting untruths to catch politicians in "gotcha" moments.
anyway, he's voting for mccain.
so, there you go.

You seem so angry, I can feel your energy, it is ok Heather, everyone is entitled to an opinion and a vote, just meet me half way.

Obama went into Joe's neighborhood, so in your world, Joe, should not have a voice?

He brought it on himself?

He did?

I don't understand your logic.

Shame on McCain for bringing this guy into the spotlight like he did! He mentioned him 21 times at the debate!

At least he apologized...

John McCain later apologized to Joe the Plumber on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ for putting him in the spotlight.

Source

McCain did this. Quit crying.

no anger. just a frustrated mother of 4, grandmother of 5 who happens to believe there are more important things to be concerned about than whether "joe the plumber" got a fair shake.
some citizens outrages or concerns seem misplaced.
this election has caused many to do things that are not wise.
this election has caused many to do things that are hateful.
this election has caused many to do things that are ignorant.
"joe the plumber" hasn't suffered compared to many others.
speaking as a 42 year old proud american, who has seen what humans are:
stupid, evil, racist, kind, loving, honest, and sometimes want answers from political candidates.
mccain decided to use him as a talking point and obama gets slammed because the guy was found out -by reporters- and still gets accused of making the guy's life miserable.
this distraction is what it is. the media needs to create something out of nothing.

Well how would you like to treat criminals? You see, "joe" is a criminal.

Even criminals are allowed a question ?

yes?

I am not one for beatin a dead horse.

But I wonder how the Joe haters would hold up under scrutiny?

Honestly , jfj, you think looking into his divorce records is fair?

[edit on 063131p://bFriday2008 by Stormdancer777]

No I don't think looking into his divorce records is fair, only his financial records.

no, you're misunderstand or failing to see my point.
joe asked a question using info that wasn't true.
obama answered said question based on his info and gave joe his answer.
mccain invoked joe's "situation" ad naseum to make obama look bad.
media looked into joe's life, not obama.
media found out the truth about joe.
hence, obama is blamed for joe's misfortune.
citizens now question whether joe is being attacked.
i say no, you obviously disagree.
joe is now another media created distraction.
god, i love america.

What Obama is stating is that there is no longer an American dream. He states he wants to make sure kids can go to college, but if they decide to start their own company and become successful, they should pay 3% more in taxes if they make over 250k to help those who are not self sufficient, work hard and make a good living. This is called socialism and is dangerously close to Communism.

Does working hard to support your own family garner no reward. You see, this will NOT create jobs, as now one will be able to hire people for small businessblue collar jobs and if there are no corporate tax breaks on larger companies goods, then they cannot create more white collar jobs.

You see, companies do not pay Income tax, they collect it. Read up on Fair tax and the current tax code system.

As far abortion, stem cell, etc, this is not a matter for the president and never should be. This should be state controlled which is what the Democrats do not like.

Another Republican at one time had a dream...his name was Martin Luther King.

Apparently they have dug though his divorce records and his tax records , and did you know his first name isn't Joe , it is Samuel J.

If only they would have vetted the actual candidates with this much enthusiasm.

i dont know about the average joe, but thank god i am back home. I almost got arrested becauses i hacked someones napster account and i did not get in trouble for actually hacking the guys account. i got in trouble because i downloaded a song called "fxxx" the military, i was threatened by the news media and my family and even my neighbors accross the street. they stirred up so much crap it wasnt even funny. but napster rocks though because all that weird crap that happens to you when you get on the bus, like "bus people" well napster disrupts the flow of all that and apparently this stirs up a crap storm. it was funny to see have the city in s to be home weird syncapade and i was all normal. to be honest i did not even care about the name, i just downloaded the album and bam a crap load of stuff over some techno by recycle bot.

I just saw an ad for Obama. In it, he promotes his desire to work for the common man. He mentions the auto worker of 20 years seeing his job go overseas. The entire ad is about how he will work for the average person. He approves the message.

Compare that to the fact that he attacks the common man. A plumber is about as common of an example of the middle class working man as they come. So, this is just another two faced move by this lying socialist that proves he absolutely does not have the interest of the people at heart.

Heather, is it safe to say that a man like Joe can ask a hypothetical question without fear of incurring the wraith of the MSM?

The problem with "Joe's situation" are the words O'Bama chose to answer his question with. Do these words not raise an eyebrow?

I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too." and "I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody".

Heather, the question is: Whose "wealth" does O'Bama intend to spread around? Because once you open that pandora's box, you'll never get it closed.

In 2006 the US Tax Code was over 16,000 pages, purely the result of politicians pandering for votes. If you remove the politics from the tax code and go to a flat tax, you will cut half of the BS from the election process, and have a tax code that is fair and balanced.

And trust me, because Joe asked a hypoithetical question does not give anybody the right to dig into his personal life. Whether Joe can actually afford to buy the business or not, he did not deserve this intrusion.

Just like you don't deserve to be ripped apart for chosing _______for president.

That guy has been all smoke and mirrors from the beginning... and sadly so many people appear to be under his spell.

I believe in Obama as much as I believed a big GFL spaceship was going to drop into earth orbit and save the planet on Oct 14th.

Just another 4$$hole IMHO.

Quite true Mr.InfaRedMan.

I received this in my email, just thought I would pass it along.

"Pull out of Iraq?
Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?

Body count:
In the last six months:
292 killed (murdered) in Chicago;
221 killed in Iraq.
Chicago.... Who manages it?

Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin
Rep: Jesse Jackson Jr.,
Illinois Gov: Rod Blogojevich,
Illinois House leader Mike Madigan,
Illinois Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike),
Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)
.....our leadership in Illinois.....all lifetime Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.
Of course, they're all blaming each other!
Can't blame Republicans, they're aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.
Iraq, 67.2 Billion SURPLUS...

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25%highest in country. (Look 'em up if you want).
Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he's gonna 'fix' Washington politics for us!

Screwed in 08... Gross understatement."

the fact is what if this guy wants to OWN a company and employ 7 plumbers. He does not need to be certified as a plumber, just a sub contractor at that point.

So if I have a company and it makes more than 250k a year, I have to support people who do not want to move forward with their lives. Obama will not create jobs if he taxes small business and does not give tax breaks to larger corporations. It will be 4 years of layoffs. What the hell does Redistribute the wealth mean????

Obama states that he is for the average man and he had the gall to mock a PLumber who would make 250k a year. That is ridiculous. I hope that the Average Joe will see through this. It is really scary to me as a Computer Engineer who wants to have his own company and I know that I could bring in that much easy with consulting. Very Very scary indeed.

I'm curious why the media isn't outside Ayers house, digging up his history, and spreading it all over the big 3 evening news (ABC, CBS, NBC). I'm curious why the media isn't diving into Acorn, continually talking to Wright, Rusco, or any other of Obama's affiliations at this point. Obviously they're way more important than Joe the middle class question man, they actually had direct contact, and influence on a presidential candidate.

The answer is obvious and clear. The media likes to try to ruin who they want to ruin. Joe is caught in the middle of a media battle for the white house. The media wants to elect Obama, and they will do what it takes to get it done.

oh my god i can't take it anymore!

1) Joe asks Obama a question.

2) Obama Answers Question.

3) Debate night, and McCain doesn't like Obama's answer to Joe's question, and desperately seeking the "game changer" throws Joe's name out on national TV. First and last name.

4) McCain throws his name out over a dozen times in the debate.

5) Media researches into who this Joe guy is.

6) Obama gets blamed?

this doesn't make sense. Obama does not control the news media in the least. Was it wrong for the news media to hound the guy? that part is questionable. They are "following a lead"

Was it wrong for McCain to toss this guys name in the mix without his permission, or even a thought as to how it would affect the guy personally? YES!

I'd be upset if someone broadcast my full name, profession, and town I lived on national TV to further their agenda... it is wrong

Quit blaming Obama for this, this one is 100% McCain. he is the only one who did anything wrong.

THOUSANDS of people ask Obama questions everyday, same with McCain, and their lives aren't turned upside down.

The determining factor was McCain talking about him on national TV. now over 50 million people know who he is. THAT is an OBSCENE and gross violation of his privacy.

//end rant//

Ayers has given his statements

the MSM is ALL over ACORN, and has sniffed out other states in which fraud has taken place.

They did hound Wright during the primaries, to the point he hired an "agent" of sorts to schedule his television interviews.

Take off your blinders guys! you're falling prey to the election propaganda!

Both parties are doing it pretty hard core, but about the time you're spouting republican or democrat talking points as your arguments, its time to re-evaluate how "open" to information you have become...

DENY IGNORANCE guys, you're letting them get to you!

This is very strange...

The October surprise mabye????

Here is a perfectly average person, who has more guts to ask BO a tough question, then that sad sack McCain.

So he gets BO to admit that he is a outright fiscal socailist, and boarderline open comunist.

So what does the Obama media Do?

They go out on an all out attaack on Joe.
They assastionate his charecter thru the media
They do more investigagting on Joe, then they have done on BO.
We have learned more about Joe and his life, then we have about BO

Is this a telling tale about HOW the Obama camp responds to criticism...
its pretty disgraceful...

If you offend, or make the Great Leader look bad, his cronies in the media go out in full force to assasinate your charecter...

People are going to be afraid to make crituqes of BO...
To go against BO policy...

This is what we want?

It took my Wife and I ten years of a combined total of 100 to 120 hours a weeks work to crack the $50,000 per year barrier with our COMBINED incomes.

During the hard times, we were accused of wealth so many times by employees that it stopped mattering. There came a point where we accepted that there are leaders and sheep in society and that the sheep will always feel compelled to hate the leaders even if they have to lie to justify it.

The main difference between the person who owns the business and the one who works for it is motivation. Ownership of a small business requires sacrifice and at first learning to live in poverty while you build. There is a reason that most small businesses fail. People convince themselves that the lies they believe about their employers are real and when they try they fail. They have no comprehension of the sacrifice involved or the motivation required.

One of my first thoughts after I realized I was going to succeed and survive was that I need to go back to everyone I ever worked for and appologize for the ridiculous things I thought and said about them. I realized that all along it was a form of jealousy that made me hate the people who were putting food on my table instead of learning from them. I was a fool. I could have started years earlier had I not been such a fool.
_______

On topic -

From the news I just finished watching, Obama has his own people investigating Joe not the MSM. How sad
He asked a valid question and he gets this. Politics makes me want to vomit.

I can't vote for either of these fools. Obama AND McCain are both the problem. I'd have to be brain dead to endorse either of them. I spent part of yesterday watching tapes of their rallies I've found on the Internet. Sheeple does not even begin to describe their supporters. I've got a few days to decide what name to write-in. I'd better get to it.

I believe you've got the wrong poster. It was Pieman's post I was replying
to. If not, not sure why this was directing at me.

Pure craziness! Joe asks Obama a question, Obama answers the question and Obama opens his mouth and his true agenda comes out. McCain gets blamed because he used him for "political gain."

I don't get it Joe was a perfect real life example to compare Obama's tax plan too and now McCain is getting blamed for the this guys life getting dug into to revealing him to probably be even more of an average American than what people would have thought.

So the guy is divorced, he has tax liens, big deal, lots of doctors and lawyers have tax liens against them. Then I read a comment earlier about how it is fair for people to dig into his financial record.

What is wrong with you people. Doesn't matter who the guy is that asked the question all that matters is the answer to that question.

My advice to the Obama campaign, stick to the issues.
