Obama's socialism plan will destroy small business. It will destroy people wanting to be successful.

Oh please... There are quite successful countries with tax schedules way beyond what Obama is proposing, and people there want and are successful.

Obama's plan is not socialist, but it is a step to put up a damper to runaway inequality that corrodes America from the inside.
His plan will not only really hurt small businesses but also hurt the overall economy.

Since the mid-1990s, small businesses have created 60 to
80 percent of the net new jobs. In the most recent year with
data (2005), employer fi rms with fewer than 500 employees
created 979,102 net new jobs, or 78.9 percent. Meanwhile,
large fi rms with 500 or more employees added 262,326 net
new jobs or 21.1 percent.

Good Idea Obama. Let's tax small businesses. What an idiot.

watching from afar but......in the youtube vid, when obama makes the statement "he's working for a plumber?" i read it as referring to mccain, especially in view of the banner at the bottom of the screen!

why it that an issue and how is that mocking to this guy joe?

the other thing that strikes me is that...um...the average american doesn't make $250,000!! why is giving a tax break to the average american bad socialism but giving a tax break to the americans on the wealthy end of the pay scale isn't? what's the difference?

this thread doesn't add up to me, what am i missing. i thought an effort to make the average americans standard of living better by taxing him less would be a welcome thing!!!

I understand your point, Tide, but the issue is, Joe, attacking Joe is the issue,

and I don't think it is fair,Now people are coming up with all these conspiracy theories about Joe,

Good grief he will have to leave the country.

huffington post disclosed his address, it is dangerous

With Obama's plan, the $47k plumbers will save MORE money to help them advance to proprietorship, which is good.

Those 47k$/year plumbers are not people who are creating new jobs and do nothing for the overall economy. We need to create jobs. Why tax those who are the only ones creating them?

Maybe so, but when those same plumbers finally do advance in the proprietorship and reach that certain income level, they will be punished for their success!

Don't you see the stupidity in that?

According to Obama the American Dream has a limit on it of $250,000 a year!

Typical irresponsible Huffington Post. Between Huffington Post and Daily Kos I'm starting to think this country isn't safe anymore. The average person certainly isn't. Just ask plumber Joe.

Also with Obamas tax plan those 45k/year plumbers may not have jobs. What do you think they would rather have, a secure job or a small tax break?

I think you are right, why would they do such a thing, taking into consideration how volatile this situation could become.

how? surely if you earn 250k you won't drop an employee because you don't get a tax break. this sounds like a whole lot of scare mongering.

It's not that you won't get a tax break. It's that you'll get a tax increase.

Obama will raise practically every tax on businesses.

People will cut jobs.

That's about as inane statement as it can get. Obama is not going to take away the amount above some magic $250k cap -- you probably saw the projected tax schedules and I hope looked at the numbers. There is no limit on American dream. There is, unfortunately, a limit on the amount of information certain persons can absorb.

realistically, no company will drop an employee unless it costs them more to employ that person than the person makes for the company. if that was to be the case then the tax would have to be per employee!!

hence scaremongering.

Not directly, but once you hit that level he has described your taxes shoot way up. Then he'll take your hard earned money and "spread it around" to those who haven't earned it.

So why strive to earn that much money if it's going to be taken away through taxes for the purpose of income redistribution?

Beautiful, just beautiful! An average person asks the "messiah" a simple question. Before the "messiah" can insert a foot, his socialist agenda flops out exposing our future under this mans rule and now it's "scare mongering"? WTF? I believe we are witnessing blind devotion followed by devout ignorance! How can anyone vote for this man?

And for those of you who didn't bother to check out Michelle Malkin's blog, here's just an excerpt:

As I note below, there’s also a feeding frenzy over Wurzelbacher’s tax lien. Patterico wonders where the media hounds are on the story of Obama’s treasurer’s tax liens. Bet you hadn’t heard about that. Bet you never will again

Obama’s treasurer’s tax liens.

Strange thing, none of the videos on you tube showing this will play today.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but I am thinking about digging out my tinfoil over it

ETA: nevermind, a quick restart of browser fixed the problem

did you just read my last post or something, you're just shouting at me without answering the original question, why is it socialist to give a tax break to a poor man but not socialist to give a tax break to a rich man?

i bet obama supporters really like posts like yours.

The issue here is that it's socialist to "spread the wealth around".

The taxes themselves aren't even the issue as much as what he wants to do with them.

You know what it cost already to hire a person. Especially a person in construction? You have workers comp. Which already amounts to anywhere from 10-40%/ per hundred of payroll, depending on industry. Then you have unemployment insurance, social securtiy, etc. The profit margin per employee is already thin. So now you want to make it thinner by raising taxes. People will cut jobs. Even worse people will not hire as many people. You do not raise taxes, under any circumstances, on the only businesses that account for 100% of new hires right now.

thats what percentage taxes do, that's their function!!

regardless, doesn't matter.
so are you saying it is a bad thing that obama wishes to make average americans richer instead of maintaining the present two tier system?

do you think that in america, at the moment, hard work = well paid?
