You're not a lawyer, so you couldn't possibly know enough about joe circumstances to make a judgement about his legal risks.

Of course I can espouse his legal risks. You see there are several parts to the written portion of all trade tests including plumbing. There is the practical portion and the business/legal portion. I am a licensed builder and have taken and passed the required tests and know the content regarding his legal risks.

In fact you don't even have the facts correct. He isn't running his own business, he's working for Allan Newell, an licensed plumber in the State of Ohio.

So then "joe" isn't a plumber now is he?

Wow! How far back do you and Joe go? Was he your best man? College
roomie? or maybe you two are neighbors? I mean you must know him very
well, you speak with such conviction as you slander him relentlessly!! And
yet you are so blind with your affection for Obama (either that or it's your silly pride.) that you can't see the forest for the trees!!

I mean come on! Seriously? Who gives a rip about whether or not he has a license. Ding-dong Nobama just showed his hand with his socialist (soon to be Marxist) plan.

You of all people, with an avatar and signature, not to mention most of your
post always going on about the constitution and losing our personal liberties.
support the numb nut Nobama!! Seems to me to be just a little hypocritical!

Don't ya think??

Agreed, Joe the plumber is a "legitimate moron" used to distract people so they waste time on trivial crap and to sell them on false promises about tax cuts, while the economy is crumbling to where Joe has no job.

Joe Six-Pack, Joe the Plumber, Joe Jobless Reuters

For evidence of the consequences of this decline, we have to look no further than the nation's crumbling physical foundation -- unsafe roads and skies, collapsing bridges, breaking levies, understaffed emergency rooms.

As unemployment rises and more jobs across the technology, financial, retail and other sectors decline, an emphasis on helping more individuals move into skilled trades and rewarding those who are working in them will not only be good for Joe Six Pack and Joe Plumber, it will provide opportunity for the fastest growing group of Joes - Joe Jobless.

Funny! I don't recall Joe going up to Obama and telling him he wanted to "spread the wealth around!!" But I do recall Obama making this exact statement regarding Joe's wealth!! All while the camera's were rolling.

So tell me, who is the real "moron?"

Define socialist takeover mentality! In fact, the takeover in this instance was motivated by the realization that this was one of teh few options remaining. I submit that "socialist mentality" overlaps with this notion considerably.

McCain's plan to buy bad mortgages is more Soviet than housing policies in the Soviet Union. Which means he's a split personality at the very least.

If "Joe" can't afford to pay his taxes and license what the hell does he do with his "+$250k" yr income?

How can some folks believe his B.S? Probably the same folks that believe war (guaranteed by a McCain presidency) will help the economy.

You know wars do help the economy, think after the last crash and how we entered wars to boost the populations morale and industries.

Failed economies are a result of failed policies, corruptions from CEOs of investment banking, and the DEMOCRATS sleeping in bed with those same CEOs

I love uninformed people. Where did he claim to make 250000/year. He stated he was interested in eventually buying the company he worked for. That if he grew that company with more trucks and employees (the american dream) that Obama then would be taking his hard earned money and redistributing it. Maybe you should read or listen to what he said before you make your comments.

Attacking Joe is how Senator Obama figures to reduce the incidence of difficult questions. It is a form of terrorism. You know--- look what happened to Joe, ask a question, it could happen to you. Is this a sign of things to come? The more people understand this, the better for all of us.

This would be a good opportunity to present a unified force of all average Joes and Janes, standing up for one of their own. You Americans have a unique opportunity to scare the living pants off of TPTB. You could send a message "Right, that's it! If you hurt one of us, we'll all be coming to the defence." You could pop their bubble of delusion.
Of course you wont... none of us really know how to make something like that to happen. But just imagine how truly wonderful it would be to show that the average Joes and Janes are all backing each other, no matter imperfections or short comings. Wow, we would really see some desperate and frustrated control freaks freaking out!

So he was worried about taxes on money he does not have.

Gee, I wonder how Obama is gonna tax my 1 million dollars in hypothetical profits for next year.

OMG! A hypothetical question. Doesn't Joe realize that politicians do not deal in the hypotheticals, only reality?

No he wasn't worried about taxes on money he doesn't have, he was worried about the future of tax rates on sole proprietor businesses. Ya see, while you and I waste our time on conspiracy websites there are people who actually have ambition and try to optimize their future.

I actually run a business and know how to handle extra expenses. Rather than whine and complain I just pass it on to the customer. Problem solved.

Paying taxes and following government laws are part of running a business and if you can't handle it, don't start one.

Obama's tax plan for small businesses will raise the rate from 37.9% to over 50% (www.politico.com...) . If you try passing that to your customers they will simply shop for a business not affected by the hike, i.e. a larger business. You are lamely and wrongly using the same argument that says that corps pass on the cost of doing business to their customers, when it abosolutely does not apply to a sole proprietor business. If you were a businessman, you'd know that.

Paying taxes is part of running a business but that doesn't mean you have to bend over and spread'm. We have a choice NOW to decide if we want the next admin to be sympathetic to small businesses or hostile.
