National Search For Boy Taken By 'Police Imposters'

news.yahoo.com

An Amber Alert was expanded nationwide as police searched for Cole Puffinburger, who was taken Wednesday, police said.

There is a definite "drug nexus," Las Vegas Police Capt. Vincent Cannito said at a news conference Thursday. "Significant money and drugs" were involved, he said, but he would not provide more details.

Two men identified themselves as police officers to gain entry to the home several miles northeast of downtown Las Vegas, Cannito said. They demanded money, and the home was ransacked and the couple tied up, he said.

"This child witnessed that," he said. "This child was ripped from the home."

Oh, this is just beyond sad. The guys gain entrance by posing as cops, and then ransack the house, bound and gag the parents, and take their 6 year old boy.

So this kid is victimized all the way around---Victimized because of the parents involvement with drugs, and now being abducted by others in a dispute over drugs...

Let's all hope this child isn't hurt. He is an innocent casualty in this mess...

Hopefully the Po-Po imposters will just let him go. Not sure he should go back to the folks if they're involved in the drug trade, but at least turn the child into some place that will look after him and keep him safe.

The parents caused that child to be a victim. I think the blame goes squarely on them. You get involved with bad people this is what happens. And saying youre a cop happens quite often. People are so scared of cops they will do anything you say then. Mostly because law enforcement has far to much power. Its a good way to pull off a crime.

The choice to take the child was made by the abductors. They hold responsibility for this child's abduction, not his parents. Secondly, the parents might not have had a child when they first got involved with drugs, drug dealers or other "criminals" and whatever problems they may or may not presently suffer.

My heart goes out to this, what must be, very, very frightened, frustrated and self-blaming child and his parents who ought to be feeling very distraught and angry.

His parents might or might not have been addicts. I put little credence into media reports of drug users - they usually bias people to consider them addicts and worthless. Even were they addicts it does not necessarily follow that they neglected or anguished their child. In feeling people, it is usually self-pity and self-loathing that causes neglect and rejection of others.

People really shouldn't measure others by their own standards and lives. Judgments so derived are usually hypocritical and biased by the appearance the judger prefers others to see of them. Learn to judge people according to their hearts and intentions relative to their consideration to the wellbeing of others. We all know it is wrong to harm others; and equally we all know that sometimes it's unavoidable to not harm others. We must try not to measure others by our own sins (nor the admonishments and punishments rewarded for them).

I pray this child is alive and remains alive. I pray that, should God will it, he sees his family again. I hope the motive behind this abduction was not malicious.

Authorities have called off an Amber Alert in the search for an abducted Nevada boy. But they aren’t saying why.

Nevada officials canceled the alert for 6-year-old Cole Puffinburger earlier today. They would not give details but plan to hold an afternoon news conference.

There's going to be a news conference at 5pm EST to discuss why the Amber Alert was called off - hopefully they've found the child alive and well...

In addition, Cole's grandfather was arrested today as a "person of interest" - apparently he was the one involved with the drug gangs.

Yes evidently his grandfather was in cahoots with drug dealers laundering money, seems quite a bit is missing, poor kid is probably dead from being tortured, that dirt bag grandfather only cared about himself,he knew what would happen if he was caught, too bad they didn't take him,1st anyway,I sure wouldn't write that guy an accidental life insurance policy

Press conference:

Amber Alert called off because they're not getting enough tips thru the hotline.
The child has not been found.

The grandfather is indeed in custody.

Additional "person of interest" has been interviewed.

A third "person of interest" has been identified and they're looking for him.

Annnnd that's about all. The poor little boy.

WOOOHOOO!!

They just broke in on MSNBC and accounced that Cole has been found safe and alive in Las Vegas!

Found a link:

A 6-year-old boy kidnapped from a Las Vegas home by alleged drug dealers has been found alive in a neighborhood northeast of the Las Vegas Strip, police said.

Cole Puffinburger was recovered at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday after a citizen informed detectives about a child walking the streets, Las Vegas police Officer Jay Rivera said. He said the child appeared to be healthy.
