This is VERY true

Thank you Mods for all the great work you do around here, and yesterday (possibly because I was hiding out in BTS) I didn't witness much of the drama surrounding yesterday.

You guys really are awesome, and you ARE the best staff that any forum could ever ask for

That could NOT have been easy yesterday! It's bad enough, I'm sure, being so close to the elections, then throw GoodBlossomChild into the mix.......wow! I got one quick question though. Why do a mass U2U on a subject that was totally out of control? Didn't that hype the hoax, and therefore make the moderators job that much harder?

Well whatever the reason...ATS got some great numbers out of it, so it may have been a good idea after all?

Even though I got banned for the night for posting a joke about the whole thing. IT was after the warning went out so its no biggie. I know the thread was trying to be toned down and all so its all good. Good job at keeping all the new threads coming out under control too. Seriously, you guys do a good job and this site rocks.

You all handled the entire thing really well. Maybe some good will come of Ms. Goodchild's fifteen minutes of fame here at ATS, if she brought in new people to see how professionally a discussion can be moderated

mods: I can only imagine. I couldn't even keep up with the FOL thread when I finally gave in and started to follow it late last night. Making decisions about what belonged and what didn't would have been way too much for me.

all staff: I know you got dinged by some for not calling it a hoax/fraud earlier, and by others for calling it a hoax/fraud at all. I continue to be amazed at a site that seems to allow any opinion or prediction, no matter how controversial or crazy, to be aired, without turning into a blood-and-excrement-filled free-for-all.

And mods even managed to keep an eye on threads likely to go down in flames outside the Predictions and UFO forums, which is really amazing!

I am jealous! How come you are so special? I want to 'talk' with Springer too!

Just have to say, it is true you guys did this with dignity and respect for all. I too am proud of you all.

I could not agree more. I have been a member of many different forums for more years than I can remember and I have never seen such an active forum and huge membership with such dedicated, hardworking moderators. I can only imagine how difficult a task it must be for the moderators to keep up with the massive amounts of posts that occur on a daily basis. Then to have to shift into mega overdrive over the past several days as we monitored the global economic crisis and Oct 14th prediction. Especially the latter. An unbelievable achievement!

Skeptic Overlord, I can really sense your rightfully placed pride in
the moderating staff!

Some days, it's kind of a drag to see some of the (stuff) that gets posted
here. And other days it gets worse!

But,

The patience and delibrate restraint the moderating staff has exibited
in the 10-14/ BG threads, is really above all I have ever set a bucket under!

Even though I gave up on the "official" GFL thread (where all other threads were "redirected") after page 2 or 3...I saw plenty of Mod work go into just that little amount that I even paid attention to. I would give a standing ovation for the Mods, but then my typing would look more like:

...simply because I can't reach the keys well enough while standing. It looks like you'll just have to settle for my "sitting/typing ovation" instead.

BTW, since the whole "Oct. 14th deadline hoopla" has passed (in abject failure, I might add), does that mean all of those threads will finally be closed?
