This is very strange.

I have never seen an anomaly like this one before.

I was hoping to get some input....

Christmas 2007 at my mom's house, and this picture of her was taken by my sister with a one time use Kodak camera. Mom had just been home 2 weeks from the hospital, recovering from a stroke. All the other pictures taken that day, in the house and or in that front room were okay. (Without any anomalies like in this picture) Also, this picture was taken in the approximate middle of the available number of pictures on the camera.

I don't believe that this is dust in the camera since there is a projected shadow on the curtain from the flash. However, there wasn't anything visible upon taking the picture.

I am curious as to what this may be in the picture. My mom has since passed (Aug.2008) at the age of 83. About two weeks before she passed, mom had mentioned, and asked several times, who the little boy was in her room. Maybe this is related to this incident?? Who knows ?

www.coasttocoastam.com...

Notice the shadow this thing is casting.

Also the angle of the shadow doesn't appear to be in line of the camera's flash...

I looked for a mounting device on the mantle, or strings of some sort. Even if it was a reflection, at least a small section of the object would be visible. Not in this case, whatever is reflecting, its reflecting its entire surface.

I don't know what to make of this.

It is not uncommon for people who are about to pass on to see "the little boy" or the "3 little boys." And this doesn't always happen just before death sometimes for weeks before. Some people report their relatives seeing something frightening just before they die.
I think there was a thread on ATS about this a couple of weeks ago.

Also, if you're interested got to allnurses.com. THere are some really intersting stories there.

ya it may have a shadow but it would also have a reflection in the mirror if it was solid enough to make a shadow and don't you think they would notice it if it was that solid? i mean i know for a fact that there are no disposable full spectrum kodak cameras

Thanks for the information!

The link has a bunch of forum talk about nursing experiences.

I typed in ghost for a search and looks like someone made a thread on nursing ghost stories.... it has over 100 pages.....

Very interesting!

I find thid picture hard to beleive... if it is supposed to take a picture of a non-physical being, how could it leave a shadow? I vote photoshop.

I have to agree with you, it looks very very fake. The strong shadow to say the least indicates all light is reflecting and there is no refracting. If it is not visible with the naked eye, at least the shadow would be.

The shadow also looks a bit off, it looks crudely photoshopped.

[hoax] in my opinion. And not a very good one at that.

I saw this on the C2C site as well. I noticed the shadow was cast as though from either a separate flash unit, or from a reflected surface nearby.

The effect is impossible to recreate from a mounted on-camera flash or even from the mirror over the fireplace.

I then assumed it was altered in Photoshop, and the lighting was not taken into consideration when created -- until I noticed there was a slight difference between the illuminated 'glob' and the shadow behind it. The lumps and protrusions don't match exactly.

So assuming that the glob was really there somehow, the only things that would cause the shadow discrepancy would be either the speed of the glob, or flash itself.

If the glob was there and flying around, it would have to be flying so fast that the light and shadow would be offset slightly - meaning the glob actually moved further before the light traveled the rest of the way to the back wall.

Otherwise some flash units blink twice - this camera might be similar. The lit glob might have been lit by the flash twice causing a perceived shift between the object and its shadow. Note - if the object were close to the camera, the shadow behind it would be larger and more diffuse, the resulting image shows that it's actually closer to the wall than the photographer.

So as for what it could be - maybe someone threw a towel across the room really fast? Or it could be a ghost - anything's possible.

NOt to mention that if it's emmiting that much light, the rest of the things in the room should be shaded accordingly.

interesting image, but it's something that can easily be added in photoshop.
here's my attempt at it...

didn't bother looking at the meta tags, so maybe someone should try getting the original from the user and having a look.

It looks like light reflecting off the mirror from a lampshade then onto the camera lense.

The first photo, I didnt see the other two light images, but the 2nd, you can see it almost looks centred... as a prism would (when light refracts it generally causes a pattern)

not sure how to explain the shadow from the centred image.. quite strange
edit to add:
although the left & right images look like little angels

perhaps cheribum?

ya i'm pretty sure that's a mirror they would not have two of the exact same things sitting right next to each other on a mantle ...

The one time use Kodak camera uses 35mm film, therefore, a negative should be available to dis/prove Photoshop-ing. Looks completely faked from to gitgo. A pristine negative would help shed some light on it.

Your absolutely correct!

It would be nice to have the negative. If this anomaly is on the negative, we really have something strange indeed.
