Found this quite interesting and thought I would share it with all of you....

-------------

Why is all of this going unnoticed by the media????

They send 1000 reporters to Alaska to dig up something

on Sarah palin and they have this right in front of their eyes!

From Dreams of My Father:

'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of

12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing

so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father :

'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense

of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

From Dreams of My Father:

'There was something about him that

made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father:

'It remained necessary to prove which side

you were on, to show your loyalty to the

black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father:

'I never emulate white men and brown men

whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was

into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa ,

that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself ,

the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

And FINALLY the Most Damning one of ALL of them!!!

From Audacity of Hope:

'I will stand with the Muslims should

the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

*If you have never forwarded an e-mail,

now is the time to do so!!! We CANNOT have

someone with this type mentality running

our GREAT nation!! Whether

you are a Democrat or a Conservative,

we CANNOT turn ourselves over to this

type of character in a President.

PLEASE help spread the word.

----------------------------

Thoughts anyone?

McCain/Palin all the way to the White House!

Hmmm... interesting.

I'd like to get these quotes verified somehow...
Has anyone hear actually read either of those books?

I have a feeling a lot of these quotes may be taken out of context.... Were these his thoughts as a young kid? Or as a grown man?

They all sound as though they are his thoughts as a child, not necessarily still held by him today.
However, that final quote seems very odd, not something he would have thought about as a child. It seems to not fit with the other quotes at all.

The earlier quotes are from a section of the first book where he's reflecting on race relations while growing up. The full text (which is available online somewhere, I think) gives the full picture of a young black male growing up in America and being introspective about it.

The last quote is a complete fabrication and does not exist in that book, at least any editions I'm aware of. I grabbed the audio book some time ago to learn more about the candidate. While I definitely do not agree with his stances on all pertinent issues, he does come across as a sincere, pragmatic and introspective person.

That being said, I'm not advocating either candidate--I support anyone reading this voting in any way they deem proper (if you're in the U.S.). Cheers, everyone!

Well, he did go to a church and was mentored for 20 years by a man who believed white people created aids to kill black people. I don't know if these quotes are completely accurate, but if they are it shows yet another pattern in Obama's attitude.

i'll take completely out of context for 500?

does this qualify as "quote mining"?

In fairness, this forum is practically built on quote mining. I cant count the number of times I've seen 10 page threads based on an isolated McCain or Palin quote. Not to mention Bush or any number of other Republicans.

As posted by a member a bit further up the page, snopes covers this nicely.

Just in case you missed it.

As such,

The madness ends now.
