Hi every one,

About one hour ago I was walking trough town and I saw this light in the sky, does any one know what it is?
I took some pics and uploaded them.
The colours of the ligt don't show up very nicely in the photo, when i looked at it with my bare eye's it had pink, blue , orange and bright white colours.

Here are the pics.

Original:

as you can see it doesnt show up really good , probably because of the poor camera (and camera settings) in my cell phone.

So here is the enhanced version:

Any suggestions?

Cheers

S.

Those are just the thumbnails.

Could you upload the full size images?

Thats what us weather people call iridescence or irisation.

Happens when clouds with water droplets or ice crystals of the same size diffract sunlight.

Here's a link if you want to know more

THIS is the real strenght of ATS: people like like you, actually trained, actually able to provide an explanation even in a case like this one. This is why i don't think to be a real expert: there are so many things to know, mother nature is able to play so many tricks that i feel to be too small in front of all them
Too many things to know.
Thank you for bringing some REALITY to the forum.

As a resident of Seattle I feel that I should weigh in on this one. You see up here in the NW we see this phenomenon all the time. They're called.....CLOUDS.
