Uh, if you are referring to the income tax, the poor pay none,
True enough, how can someone pay what they don't have? Even the IRS sees this cold, hard fact of life.
and large chunks of the middle class pay little to none.
Hereby showing you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Actually, the middle class in this country pay the lion's share of the tax
burden. Think about it, kind of makes sense, considering they are the largest demographic and are the engine this economy runs on.
The lions share of the tax burden rests on the shoulders of the "wealthy", yet those who pay none reap the rewards.
Wow... what nation are you speaking about. Actually, the tax laws are written in favor of the wealthy. If you make enough money to itemize and save
all those receipts, you are allowed to deduct a huge portion of your income. Add to that the fact that the wealthy can actually afford a good CPA to
help them with their taxes and find every allowable loophole, and the truly wealthy pay minimal taxes.
Socialism has no place in this nation, regardless of who is proposing it.
The atrocity known as public education is both unconstitutional and a giant money vacuum.
While I agree that the state of our public education system is seriously atrocious at this point, it was not always in the shape it is currently. It
is obvious you have no children. Trust me when I tell you, if you did, you would quickly change your mind on this point.
I've said it before, and I will say it again, the constitution specifically provides for the "general welfare". Their job is to keep us safe,
provide services such as police, fire, ambulance, trash service, AND education. I love debating you, and I don't mean anything I say here to you as
an insult. We disagree on many things, and that is a good thing in this country. America was founded on the principle of compromise.
Here is something very unconstitutional:
The way this country has used the Military to spread its policies around the world is the most unconstitutional thing I can think of. If you will read
that precious document, you will find that the Military is specifically to be used for
defense purposes only. I know I'm going to get flamed
for "not supporting the troops". That is not the case. The best way to support the troops is to use them only when attacked. In this world, we no
longer need bases all around the world to protect our "interests". The military-industrial complex (yes, they really do exist) does not want you to
know this because, well, it would cut into their profits and take a large measure of their power away. I proudly served my country, and would gladly
lay my life on the line if there were an external threat. I would gladly follow Bin Laden to the gates of Hell, if necessary. However, this
administration has not bothered to do so. The best way to support the troops is to bring them home to their families and give them the maximum
benefits that we as a society can afford. It's not rocket science, just plain common sense.
