Iran is the all new terror.

Its country is full of people who want to nuke Israel clean of the face of the earth and their president is a genocidal maniac.

But is this true?

Although Iran and Israel are bitter enemies, few know that Iran is home to the largest number of Jews anywhere in the Middle East outside Israel.About 25,000 Jews live in Iran and most are determined to remain no matter what the pressures - as proud of their Iranian culture as of their Jewish roots...

"Because of our long history here we are tolerated," says Jewish community leader Unees Hammami, who organised the prayers.

news.bbc.co.uk...

While the country’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has delivered several fiery speeches against the existence of Israel and Zionism – and more recently thousands of Iranians demonstrated against the Jewish state – Iran’s 20,000 to 25,000 Jews said they do not feel alienated in their home country.

“The founder of the Islamic republic, Ayatollah Khomeini, had remarkable political insight and he made a clear distinction between the Jewish religion and Zionism,” said Dr Siamak Moresadiq, a representative of the Iranian Jewish community in the Iranian parliament.

“Anti-Semitism is a purely western phenomenon. Organised anti-Semitism does not, and did not, exist here in Iran. There have been scattered instances of anti-Jewish propaganda and chauvinism but the conflict between Iran and Israel does not affect the lives of us Iranian Jews,” he said...

Many Iranian Jews fought during the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) as drafted soldiers. About 15 were killed.

Dr Moresadiq, who spent three months as a volunteer soldier on the front lines when he was just a teenager, said he thought defending the country was everyone’s duty, including Iranian Jews.

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul continue to show themselves among the few in Congress with any integrity and backbone. They declined to go along with a resolution charging Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad with incitement to genocide, given his alleged call for Israel to be 'wiped off the face of the map.'

As most of my readers know, Ahmadinejad did not use that phrase in Persian. He quoted an old saying of Ayatollah Khomeini calling for 'this occupation regime over Jerusalem" to "vanish from the page of time.' Calling for a regime to vanish is not the same as calling for people to be killed. Ahmadinejad has not to my knowledge called for anyone to be killed. (Wampum has more; as does the American Street).

If Ahmadinejad is a genocidal maniac who just wants to kill Jews, then why are there 20,000 Jews in Iran with a member of parliament in Tehran? Couldn't he start at home if that was what he is really about?

www.juancole.com...

So,there are Jews who live in Iran, and have done for centuries.
They are not being persecuted and they are not being killed.
You would expect both from a country thats supposedly ready to drop bombs on Israel.

It appears the idiots charged with painting bin Laden as the Great Terror have learned nothing since then. There are holes in their Iran Terror arguments so big you could pass the American continent through them without even touching the sides.

Iran never said they were against Jews. They said that the state of Israel is a cancer that will be soon removed. They have called for Israels destruction. Specifically they call for the destruction of the Zionist regime of Israel, not the Jews themselves. Problem is that in reality they will have to destroy the entire country to accomplish this goal. They know it. Israel knows it. The world knows it.

You put nukes in someones hands who have already stated on MANY occasions PUBLICLY what they intend to do to another country, then it doesnt take a genious to read between the lines to see what will happen. Theres your problem.

Simple enough eh?

But many people are opposed to the zionist regime

and 'zionist' is not specific to jews, despite the attempts of many to convince the sheep that 'jew means zionist and zionist means jew'.

There are zionists in every nation and religious grouping

And most regard zionists as insane warmongers who have the domination of the entire world as their agenda

So if Iran is opposed to zionism and wishes it to be dismantled/destroyed, then Iran is merely stating what millions, worldwide, also believe

But of course, jews like to see themselves in every single headline
Like to be the focus of every single discussion
Because they're self-obsessed and believe we should all be obsessed with them too

And as jews basically control the media and its content, worldwide,
they interpret every single thing as being about them

hence the misinterpreted comments by Ahmandinejad .. who I believe to be a jew in any case

as US politicians are also aware.

It's all a game

a deadly game that costs Americans and Brits and Aussies and Kiwis etc. lives --- in phony wars instigated by garbage such as the stupidly misinterpreted Ahmandinejad comments

but a game nonetheless.

And most are intelligent enough to see it for what it is. And are sick of being forced into US-wars-for-Israel

Which is why they're ramping up the nonsense

Israel is a warmongering little dump

It's been playing the same game for 60 years

About time it was cut from the apron strings and forced to go it alone.

Well Iran is bringing it on themselves if they get attacked. You've seen thier threats and statements. They should just shut up, but that little rat-faced guy keeps going on with his diarrhea of the mouth...it just goes and goes with threats about Israel. They are just begging to be hit.

The official stance of the US government is that Iran are the new evil and must be destroyed because they want to destroy Israel.And the Zionist regime is America.If they stopped interfering with Israel then Israel would not have to be destroyed,not that they Iranian President actually said that anyways;

I'm afraid you couldn't be more wrong.

But it wasn’t Iran that turned the Israeli-Iranian cold war warm – it was Israel. In October 1992, prior to Iran’s material support for Palestinian rejectionists, the Shimon Peres/Yitzhak Rabin government undertook a major campaign to depict Iran and Shi’a Islamic fundamentalism as a global threat.

Even though Iran was weak militarily after the devastating war with Iraq, Rabin told Israel’s Knesset (parliament) in 1993 that Israel’s “struggle against murderous Islamic terror” was “meant to awaken the world which is lying in slumber” of the dangers of Shi’a fundamentalism. “Death is at our doorstep”, Rabin said of Iran – though he only five years earlier dismissed Iran’s rhetoric as inconsequential.

The Israeli reversal on Iran was partially motivated by the fear that its strategic importance would diminish significantly in the post-cold war middle east if the then president (1989-97) Hashemi Rafsanjani’s outreach to the Bush Sr administration was successful. Also, the geopolitical map of the middle east had changed. Israel no longer needed Iran to balance Iraq and the Arabs – rather, Iran was now a potentially powerful regional player who could become a threat. And according to Israel’s military doctrine, potential threats are to be treated as existing threats.

www.opendemocracy.net...

President Ahmadinezhad view is this;

No. I am not anti-Semitic. Like all other human beings, Jews are respected. And, by the way, there are Muslims and Christians and Jews among the Palestinian people. We say the people of Palestine should choose. We do not say that it should be the Palestinian Muslims. For they lived in peace and harmony in the past. But then Britain came over and, with colonialist goals, took control and then handed it over to the Zionists. And the problem started. Let the people choose and see what will happen.

I can't believe anyone starred this. It deserves negative stars. Some of this sounds a bit antisemitic and Ahmedinejad is definately not a Jew. He is president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Here is a link to a recent thread about an interview with the Iranian president by Larry King: www.abovetopsecret.com...'

If you don't want to look at that here is a direct link to the interview:
www.youtube.com...

Here is what he actually thinks. It is translated by a Persian translator so there is no real room for deliberate mistranslation or misinterpretation of what he says. I found him to be reasonable and sensible for the most part. He is not anti-Jewish at all. He disagrees with the legality of the state of Israel because it was made by invasion and forcing people from their homes. According to him he does not have any issues with the Jewish religion. I thought his arguments were quite sound to be honest.

I find it funny that this propaganda infected statement is by a person calling himself 'princeofpeace.'

He's said this for years, but its only now that people in the west are hearing it.Governments have to censor such information, for obvious reasons.

Its amazing how many people in the west are ignorant to the facts of what's happened in Palestine, the West Bank and the Golan Heights in the past;and is in fact still happening!

So then, what do you think about Iran hosting an international Holocaust revisionism conference?

Do you think that bolsters A-jad's reputation as being even handed? Did it help the world community see that he really isn't anti-semitic?

As i said in a thread about this topic;its the height of stupidity to deny the Holocaust, but its in no way anti-semitic to question the death toll.

Its inevitable that such a conference would be called anti-semitic,anyone who questions the Holocaust is labeled this.

The Holocaust sealed the deal on the creation of Israel, this is what many Muslims believe.

And when you even get officials at the Auschwitz Museum has have dramatically reduced the death toll from 4 million to 1.5 million,as well as at other camps like Majdanek, from 250,000-350,000 to 59,000 Jews and 19,000 non-Jews;then its fare to say that more revision needs to be done on the matter, and its inevitable that controversial questions will be asked.

Agreed.

And when the host of the revisionism conference has made repeated calls for the destruction of the world's only Jewish state . . . then it's inevitable that other questions will be asked.

Like whether for Iran's leader, the destruction of Israel is . . . personal.

Nothing but propaganda.

He hasn't called for the destruction for Israel,he's called for an end to the Zionist regime that is stealing land, killing people and keeping them from voting on who they should be ruled by.And remember, their are Jewish and Christian Palestinians, not just Muslim's.

As has been pointed out by many people, including the Iranian President, the US government called for an end to the Soviet Union.Even after the decades long cold war this wasn't seen as racist or as a declaration to destroy the whole country.

"Wipe Israel off the face of the map"

That quote has been debunked over and over. The original quote was speaking about taking out the Israeli Zionist leadership. The company that translates these types of quotes from middle eastern leadership is based in Israel. Imagine that. Then the Israeli owned media drills the bullsh*t quote into Americans heads.

First of all the Soviet Union was a conglomeration of several countries. Israel is one country. Apples and oranges.

Second . . . how else do you do a regime change? Destroy the country.

We did a regime change in Iraq. Get it?

Huh

A regime is a a ruling or prevailing system/a government in power.

Which means when Labour became the ruling government in Britain, the regime changed from that of the Conservatives.

Such a thing happens on a regular basis all around the world, and countries are not destroyed in the process.

really I never bought into the republican guard committing "terrorists acts" because Im sure that there are plenty of countries that feel as though our good ole' Rangers or "Force Multipliers" were and still are terrorists. As long as nukes are produced for the so called use of "deterrents" we will terrify many more with the prospect of being nuked. -One who desires world peace

Iran has not acted aggresively in more than 100 years Ahmedinijhad has not threatened to wipe Isreal off the map. He has not denied the holocaust.Anyone who dissagrees needs to do research.Conversley Isreal has threatened to use "tactical nuclear weapons" against Irans nuclear sites.Isreal has waged more than one war of aggression in the last sixty years and have a well documented history of war crimes (sabra, chatila, deir yassin, king david hotel, clock tower sqaure) and state sponsored terrorism (operation wrath of god.) Isreal also has a habit of assasinating or kidnapping democraticly elected politicians. I am sure I will be labelled (libelled) as anti semitic for pointing this out but it dont mean its not true.
