George H W Bush's 1991 New World Order Speech

Following George H W Bush's victory in Iraq, he made a speech, that signaled a turning point in the US Government's foreign policy. We would after this point look to make a home among all nations. It was hoped that there would be a world government in which no wars were fought and "peace" would be achieved.

Now, we can see a new world coming into view. A world in which there is the very real prospect of a new world order. In the words of Winston Churchill, a world order in which ``the principles of justice and fair play protect the weak against the strong. . . .'' A world where the United Nations, freed from cold war stalemate, is poised to fulfill the historic vision of its founders. A world in which freedom and respect for human rights find a home among all nations. The Gulf war put this new world to its first test. And my fellow Americans, we passed that test.

George H W Bush claimed that this was what our founding fathers really wanted. George H W Bush hoped that the Iraq war was the end to all wars, or, so to say.

It seems like the government is getting further and further away from this goal and they're getting closer an closer to imposing martial law on the US. It also looks like the world government is trying to force other nations into accepting it by creating a worldwide collapse of the global economy.

I'm just wondering, what do you think about all of this? Since when did our foreign policy shift from protecting itself to trying to conquer the whole world? When did this start?
