The best idea all day BlackOps719! I better head of to the liquor store quick. I have loads of beer but I have a craving for some whiskey and whatever else that might strike my fancy while I am browsing the isles! LMAO

This day of blatant manipulation, coupled with a weekend of staged speeches I have no idea what Tuesday will bring.

Any ideas?

I know EXACTLY what Tuesday will bring....

Tuesday = Massive alcohol consumption
Wednesday = Federal "Nighttrain relief bailout"

I get a sneaking feeling that before all is said and done the word FRAUD will be tossed about heavily in regard to what we have seen today.

These types of events do not occur all on their own. But as I said, rejoice for this weekend we still have an economy in place to question.

Cheers to all who participated...it was exciting to say the least

The Dow lost 18.2% this week - worst weekly percentage drop on record.
S&P 500 lost 18.2% this week - worst weekly percentage drop on record.

-128 looks like the final close.

Its REALLY obvious most of ATS is not interested in the truth.

Stock market goes up - Manipulation, plunge protection team, etc.
Stock market flat - Manipulation, plunge protection team, etc.
Stock market down - Economic armageddon, hysteria, and panic

Could it be any more obvious that people are doing nothing but trying to create a narrative to support their hope for a economic collapse instead of looking at the facts?

Its so overt its almost sad!

Anyways, I'll leave you guys to spinning that tale.

Oh and have fun with cherry picking your dates. Besides the point that DOW is not a good indicator of the economy, weekly stock market performance is worthless. But of course when you look at performance by month, quarter, or year and stack it up against others, you see that its not all the doom that you so desperately want to believe in

An interesting take on the high volume:

Higher Volume Indicates Push Toward Turning Point

Stronger volume in stock trading Friday could raise hopes that the eight-day blowout on Wall Street is pushing toward a capitulation bottom.

Over the past week the stock market has posted its biggest drop ever, tumbling more than 20 percent and triggering angst and despair among both investors and traders on the floor.

The powerful selloff continued Friday, but there also was a bit more intense volume accompanying it: close to 2 billion shares trading hands with an hour left in trading, nearing what most experts consider enough for capitulation.

"You really just want people to say, 'I can't take it anymore,' and I think we're getting to that position," said Quincy Krosby, chief investment strategist at The Hartford. "Selling begets selling, that's what happens, until it kind of washes out, until the last seller comes in and says, 'That's it.' Then there's kind of an eerie quiet."

I think there was anything but an eerie quiet today....

Anyone else want to take a stab at where they think the bottom is?

I guessed 5000 and already gave my reasoning. It's anyone's guess, I mean who could know? So what do you think it's going to be?

Grim says 7500
I say 5000
Who else?

I had already said 8000 earlier this week. I stand by that. Yes there may be dips and peaks but I think that 8000 is the place we should be corrected to
