sos37, as already pointed out, Obama's campaign agreement is off topic from this thread, so please discuss it further in a thread were it is the topic.

Any further off topic posts will be removed.

I think myself, and many other obama voters would take offense to being called weak minded for voting for obama. Becuase we disagree, it makes us weak minded??? Thats not very fair.

nothing in his ad showed any bit of socialism.

33.6 million people watched the commercial, which topped prime time network ratings.

Barack Obama's campaign "infomercial" was the most-watched telecast in U.S. prime time on Wednesday, drawing an "American Idol"-size audience that easily eclipsed even the climax to baseball's World Series.

More than 33.5 million viewers tuned in to watch the Democratic presidential nominee's paid 30-minute message, aired on three major broadcast networks and four smaller channels, Nielsen Media Research reported on Thursday.

Reuters is spinning pretty hard for Obama there. Better than the World Series? Technically, that's true, but I guess they don't factor in that the WS was on one network versus seven for the informercial. Not exactly apples to apples.

The World Series drew 19.8M on Fox. The finals for the infomercial on Fox were 7.21M.

I was expecting around 30-31M once the finals came out, but it looks like MSNBC and Univision had significantly higher ratings than their nightly averages, so there's the additional two million. Not a bad showing by any means any time you can get 33M people to watch something, but nowhere near the debate numbers earlier this month and only about half the number who voted for John Kerry in 2004.

Given that only 1/4 of the electorate watched, I still maintain that this was watched almost entirely by Obama supporters. Before the Obama supporters get their panties in a knot, understand that I'm not saying its an ill omen for election day, but simply that most of America is sick of hearing it from both sides and are ready for this election to be over.

Not a problem. I've revived the old thread and posted the information in that thread. I believe it's important because certain people are taking only part of the info from that document and using it to their advantage while ignoring other parts.

Not go on about this, SOS, but keep in mind that even though Obama's Campaign has more money than McCains, the amount of money that McCain Campaign + the RNC had on Oct 15th was $20 Million more than Obamas Campaign + the DNC.

As an Obama Supporter I wrote in several times asking him not to take public financing because of how this works. And so I feel that he actually "kept" his promise, at least to me.

I just finished watching the 4 part infomercial on youtube. As always, Obama comes across very focused, with heartfelt words, charismatic and patriotic. Reflecting on his past and how he has gone through what so many go through in life. Plucking the heartstrings of people everywhere with the sad tales of normal, hard working, middle class families and the struggles of late just to get through the day, week and month. He strong promises and devoted leadership campaign for the people and against our common enemies.
Wow. All of this sounds great.
Wow. A lot of this sounds familiar.

It is the nature of politicians to bring out the big gun promises during election times. Nevermind the actions of the past, this is the time to tell what they plan to do in the future.
They all tell you that they hear the cries and see the hardships and have these excellent plans ready to be implemented.

Lets reflect back about 8 years.

Bush's Broken Promises
Tax Cuts 2000
Campaign Promises or Lies?

So, when Obama or McCain talk about some fantastical changes that they WILL implement during their term as president, just remember that fantasy and reality are the most absolute of opposites and all too often end up with the few reaping benefits on the broken backs of the many.
