I have written about this issue here before, but the critical idea is not that some voters "just won't vote for Barack Obama because he's black." Rather, what pollsters fear is that in the context of a survey interview, some respondents may fail to tell the truth about their preferences due to some "social discomfort" arising from Obama's race.

I don't understand much of this but hope that some ATS folks will, so I would know what is this all about. I suspect that this oncoming election would be the most eventful in the history.
Does anyone suspect as well?

I always thought that without having an Anglo-Saxon name, it would be sheer lunacy to run for the presidency. I guess that the "traditional values" no longer apply.
