No point having an SR-71 chase it. That Pegasus hit Mach 1 almost as soon as it lit its booster. Haha, now somebody's radio on the B-52 is acting up - "I can take of my mask and yell at him..."

Maybe it was and it's classified. I doubt it, but this is a conspiracy board.

Hey, I remember Dangermouse! It was awesome. Nah, why bothersecretly monitoring a NASA mission that's got telemetry coming out of its ears and not a Martian city, Face or fossil in sight. Would be more fun if there was something conspiracy-y about it, though...

Could it have been possible to put a cam on the Pegasus booster and watch the X-43 separate from it or would that have disrupted the aerodynamics?

PARALYZ: No real point - just more wires, cables, radio freqs etc. Plus the camera has to stand up to Mach 5 airflow. They did mount cameras on a lot of the early rockets, showing stage separation, but I think that was mainly to see if they had a clean separation, nothing that would interfere with the flight later on.

I saw on TV news that this plane beat the speed record with a speed of more than mach 8 for a few seconds.

and I heard on the news that it reached "only" mach7 with about 7700 km/h
Now I read somewhere on ATS that there was some data lost or something like that and I would like to know what the real spead was......some help please

Would have been tracked on radar, so they'd have a pretty good idea on speed. I think the data started beiing lost after the scramjet shut down.
