Prime Minister Geir Haarde's government stands accused of "totally unacceptable" behaviour towards British savers with money invested in Icelandic banks.
Gordon Brown accompanied the criticism with the threat of legal action, if UK deposits are not honoured.
PM Criticises Icelandic Govt
The Icelandic government has used emergency powers in the past week to take over the country's three biggest banks.
It has guaranteed the savings of its own people but not those of foreign investors.
It also emerged yesterday that the 300,000 UK personal savers who had accounts with Icesave would be lucky to get their money back by Christmas.
It might have been because the terrorist threat level is severe at the moment.Which in Home Office speak means a terrorsit attack is likely to happen.I've seen police with sub -machine guns in Birmingham city centre a few years back when things were tense. They probably had intel they were'nt sharing with the public .

I wasn't going to post this but as there's an appropriate thread I may as well... no big conspiracy just saying what I saw.
I work in London and have for over 10 years, last week there was a massive police presence in town (cant remember which day). When I came out of the tube station (Embankment) in the morning there were three cops with MP5 Machine guns at the exit. As I walked to work and past two other train stations there were also cops there. As you may know our police dont carry guns apart from special units so seeing them on the streets is very rare and the only time I've ever seen them before in these numbers were the days following 7/7. I'm almost 100% sure there was a threat to London last week that was kept secret.
Anyone notice this last week? in and around Embankment/Trafalgar Square?

It's quite obvious that these trucks seen in London were filled with elite members of Army Cadets (age 14 to 16) driving to Heathrow Airport to catch a scheduled passenger flight to Reykjavik in order to invade Iceland and get our money back.
Either that or they were raiding the local Iceland supermarket to get some cheap sausages and chicken drumsticks before these get confiscated by Bully-boy Brown.
