A fellow Cooperyte... might as well be on Mars!

Now that the new school year is well under way, university officials are planning another Code Maroon test—on Oct. 14—and encouraging students, faculty and staff to sign up for the emergency notification service if they have not already done so. More than 38,500 have already registered to receive health and safety-related emergency information quickly via email and phone text messaging. The Code Maroon test this month will also include for the first time transmission of a voice message to special radios that have been placed in various offices throughout the campus. Additionally, the alert will be broadcast on the campus radio station and cable television service. To learn more about Code Maroon or to sign up, go to codemaroon.tamu.edu... To better assess the effectiveness of the Code Maroon system, a randomly selected group of subscribers will again be asked to participate in a post-test survey. If selected, you will receive a separate email inviting you to participate in the survey. Please be sure to record the time you received the test message because timeliness is a focal point of the survey. Thank you for your cooperation. I would be home, and if this thing does show up, so will my kids! I am sorry but this really creeps me out, I am actually scared to even think this could happen. I have been counting down the days.
