Well, for once, McSame seems to have his fingers firmly planted on the pulse of this nation.

We are indeed living like prisoners and slaves. And the Gov, Corps, and Banks are the wardens / masters.

I'm not sure if the juxtaposition of those two statements are sound

Either way, vote for Ron Paul or Colbert!

His name is John McCain. I thought this type of petty childishness was to be forbidden on ATS. Why are the mods tolerating this?

i agree whole heartedly with that. i wanted to clarify that i was not one of the users who starred that reply, which many would think after seeing that i was not having a favorable opinion of mccain. i do not support oboma, i do not think it was anything more than a slip from being burnt out, i do not think it was a result of his age or PTSD. i just wanted others to know the absurdity to the idea we should applause or tip our hats to him if this WAS a result from old age or PTSD, there is no room for that kind of flawed thinking in a forum about denying ignorance. i starred your reply because it was the best response to these things.

Perhaps John McCain views all of us as fellow prisoners, since the government is not acting in the manner that is appropriate. Perhaps he feels the government has grown too large and now considers itself a warden, rather doing the will of the people.

You are talking about a man who has spent the last 20+ years in the senate getting fat off of the American people and voting to help keep administrations like the Bush regime in tact and keeping their boots firmly placed on the throat of the American people.

I am allowed an opinion just as you are, and my opinion is I do not trust this man further than I could throw him. I do not believe one word he says. I believe that he is one more wanna be dictator in a long line of corrupt fascists that currently sit in the Republican party.

He does not have our best interest in mind. John Mccain could care less if we all live or die. He wants power. He wants to keep things as they are. Therefore he is my enemy and the enemy of any freedom loving American who has had enough of this madness.

If you like him so much then feel free to promote his agenda and feel free to donate your dollars to help his campaign (if you have any left after this week) but dont expect anyone else to give him a free pass or kiss his wrinkled butt because he was a POW.

I had three family members die in WWII, a father and two uncles who did time in Vietnam and a handful of cousins and others relatives who served and continue to serve in the middle east. Do I love them for it? Absolutely. Will I go out of my way to help out a veteran? Any time. Do I 110% respect our veterans who serve? You bet I do.

But Im not going to sit and watch quietly as this spoon fed, out of touch old fossil works hard to keep this country repressed and dirt poor so that his corporate fat cat buddies can keep the profits rolling in.

Hell no. Im sick of it. I call a spade a spade.

and just when i was thinkin you were above this. calling him McSame is political humor, sdatire, it is not childish, it is the use of popular ideas to make a funny way of looking at something, and political cartoons have been doing it for a long time. just because something is or isn't funny, doesn't make it childish does it? haven't you ever heard of political satire? c'mon, you are better than this i hope.

But of course you are exempt from this because you wouldn't play these childish games right?...

Just recently in another thread instead of addressing Barak Obama by his name you called him a, and I quote "a terrorist sympathizer socialist".

Looks like we all need a spoon of that medicine

I agree with you about the pettiness and childishness of it

It is weird that a man 72 years old that displays symptoms of PTSD is a presidential candidate. There are numerous Vietnam veterans that I am acquainted with that have tried to acquire a concealed carry permit, or buy a pistol, and can't due to being diagnosed and treated for PTSD. None of the people had attempted suicide either Is he someone that is stable enough to be the commander in chief? Bomb Bomb Bomb bomb Bomb Iran!!! My answer is Hell No.

yes you are totally correct on that one, but probably no one listening now, because the ones that were trying to make a point by saying things like "hats off" or "it understandable because of his age" are gone. they tucked their tails and ran because they knew there was nothing they could say after i pointed out the fundamental flaws in what they were suggesting. i couldn't believe the propoganda guy trying to imply i didn't support people who served the country, and also basicly giving the impression that those people, having served, could not be brought into the spotlight for further scrutiny, like serving your country makes you exempt from that or something. ridiculous. notice now that they are not sayiong anything else on it.

I know some oldies who really sympathise with poor McCain.

It's no joke to be trying to remember speeches and get your words right in his condition. Even having to stand up during speeches might be difficult for him by now. It's no wonder he couldn't stop his fans from yelling out "Kill Obama." Could anyone here imagine their own grandfather trying to cope with an excited mob like that?

We don't have to worry about his health or memory in the slightest. After election he'll have Sarah Palin to whisper his foreign policy speeches into one ear, and Phil Gramm to whisper economic policy into the other.

As for his continually repeating the question: "Who is Barrak Obama?"
anyone who has worked with old people understands their difficulty in remembering a person from one day to the next, and the need to continually reintroduce oneself.

It was Freudian slip kind of thing he likes to bring up his prisoner of war experience and I think he was either about to speak of it or just had. But yeah he refuses to say middle class he calls us Middle American Voters. I don't know if that's a step up or down from Bush' name for us Merkin People

I find it both hilarious and sad that ATS sees this as anything more than a fumbling of words. Why didn't he correct it? Because he didn't realize it, or because when he did realize it it was a word too late in the stream of consciousness and it would just throw off many audience members to go back mid speech and say "Oh and by the way when I said prisoners I meant Americans, sorry".
