U2U Problems

Topic started on 15-1-2003 @ 06:06 AM by ultra_phoenix

Actually, I've just 3 u2u in my box but I can't reply to them.
I've first to delete minimum one of them if I want to reply to the others 2 u2u.

But I can't do that. I have to reply first, and after, I'll erase them.

I don't understand, because before I had sometimes 7 or 8 u2u and I was able to reply. Now, with just 3 u2u, I can't even reply.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLP

What happens when you try to reply?

Delete as many as you can, from the outbox as well. There is a U2U limit and the way XMB works is it will count U2U's you send to others that are in their U2U box against your limit until they delete them.

I have deleted all the ones you have sent me. It would be a good idea for all of us here to delete any U2U's in their box they can live without - also the ones in your outbox.

(that may or may not be your problem - let us know more info, any error messages you might get, etc)

My outbox had 411 messages ! The last one had this date : 18/07/2002

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I have still the same message : " You have reached the u2u quota limit. You must delete some u2us before you can send any ".

I don't understand. My outbox is now empty and my inbox has only 3 message.

It's one of many oddities of XMB. The way I understand it, you could have no messages at all and still hit your limit IF others you have sent U2U's to have your message in their inbox. Your message they have counts against you. odd.

I raised the quota limit a bit more - let me know if that helps. If not, something else might be wrong.

Many thanks BoB88, problem fixed !

But may be it would be a good idea to send a u2u to all the users. And asking them to empty their outbox ?

I've changed a bit of code in the u2u.php file which I hope will fix this issue.

For my reference if I lose the txt file I wrote it down in, or anyone else who wants to try it out:

Locate the following line in u2u.php:

$query = $db->query("SELECT count(u2uid) FROM $table_u2u WHERE msgto='$xmbuser' AND (folder='inbox' OR folder='outbox')");

And replace it with this:

$query = $db->query("SELECT count(u2uid) FROM $table_u2u WHERE (msgto='$xmbuser' AND folder='inbox') OR (msgfrom='$xmbuser' AND folder='outbox')");

or is still to be seen!
